Matty has quite the list of things to do today…
1. Wash trike (in a mud puddle)
2. Draw with sidewalk chalk (make lots of H’s–his favorite letter right now)
3. Watch Alvin and the Chipmunks at least twice
4. Eat strawberry after strawberry, yum!
5. Boss David around
6. Color a racetrack on construction paper for his hot wheels to race (and crash on)
7. See where the day leads!

this + that

we enjoyed family movie night consisting of alvin and the chipmunks (which i thought was really funny, but maybe i was in a silly mood), snuggling under blankets (David only lasted about a half hour then he had to go slam some cupboards) and lots of popcorn (kettle corn, of course!). so fun!

the riveted jewelry is up…yAy! Steve ran into a couple glitches during the process, but I think we’ve worked them out.
The women’s conference at church was great. So fun and refreshing and definitely giving me some things to think about!

Last day for Mother’s Day orders is Monday, April 28th. Let me know in the note section if you need it for Mother’s Day.

weekend

April 25th | older posts

friday means steve’s day off and the weekend starts. yay!

david has been happy and energetic. so glad he’s back to himself!

thanks so much for your encouragement yesterday. we moms need to encourage each other! life is good but it’s also crazy and definitely imperfect. while i feel so blessed, i don’t want to give the impression that our lives are always carefree or that we don’t struggle. there is beauty even in the mess! hope you’ve got some fun stuff lined up this weekend. i’m off to tackle the garage…then join up with friends for our women’s conference at church.

sometimes…

when things get stressful and the boys are fussing and I am tired, I take out my frustration on Matty. I don’t want to do it. I want to be a patient mommy who never raises her voice or gets grumpy. I want to treasure each moment with my boys and make sure they know how loved and valuable they are. But in the moment, I snap or raise my voice. David seems more helpless so I don’t direct it toward him, it’s Matty who is on the receiving end. I always feel awful right after and give him a hug and tell him I’m so sorry. But life is imperfect and I am an imperfect mommy. Somehow he seems to bounce back quickly and goes through life with a carefree spirit and loving heart. Thanks for being patient with me, Matty. I love you.

sweet tooth.

saturday we joined friends for a party to help them celebrate their baby’s dedication. matty talked about cake in the car as we drove over. and he talked about it on the way home. that kid is like a crack addict with sugar. he just wanted to sit near the cake so he could ‘smell’ it. he definitely gets his sweet tooth from me.

where we live.
