sniffly.

April 8th | older posts

Seems like we can’t get rid of our colds around here. Or as soon as we get better, we get another sniffle. David always gets it the worst, so he needs decongestant and breathing treatments multiple times a day. He missed school all last week and looks like he’ll be staying home tomorrow and the next day…

He has been such a happy, snuggly little cutie that I really don’t mind. And it means we wear jammies until noon and watch more videos which is nice–at least for a couple days. It’s good to slow down for a bit…as long as i don’t get it! Mommies should never get sick. You can’t take a day off and there isn’t anybody to take care of you! I take airborne and vitamin C. What’s your trick for staying well?

love & change.

first of all, thank you. i am overwhelmed by your support and encouragement with the website. i am so grateful! it’s an exciting step. it’s so nice to feel cared about.

the website is a pretty big transition for me. it’s great because it will save so much time for me and for you. I was spending 15 hours a week sending paypal links and answering questions. what will i do with all that free time?? :) it’s a little hard to let go of the personal contact i had with each of you when you placed your order, so please keep in touch via comments on my blog and email. i want to be connected with you!

and here are a couple of pics of matty and max from this morning. happy monday! gotta run…

I got away for a quick overnighter and some time with my sisters.  Wait, didn’t she just go out of town (you might ask?)  Yes, but this was a spur-of-the-moment, let’s make it happen trip.  And being unexpected made it that much more precious!

Friday night I had dinner with Sue and Ellen.  Enriques–flautas & chocolate bread pudding, time to talk, tears, laughter.  It was sooo good.
Then down to the OC for a few hours with Chris.  Ahhh, loved every minute of it.
The drive down and back meant time alone, to think and sing and pray and dream.
So good to see my boys again and tuck them in tonight.  Now, to catch up on email (and maybe laundry!)

oh picnik, how do i love thee?

what’s cookin??

Since Matty has been really into ‘cooking’ lately, i decided to have a ‘make your own pie’ night. We did this with some friends and all the kids loved it.

We used mini graham cracker pie crusts, then made vanilla pudding (but added 1/2 C. less milk than the recipe called for). From there the kids can add toppings to their own pie– strawberries, chocolate chips, whip cream, sprinkles, the works. Super easy and lots of fun!

we recently got some new brown microfiber couches that are so comfy and great. we have a huge window in our front room–love the light, laugh at the run down stables across the road.

our dining room table is the one i grew up with. sea blue placemats from target and a cheap candles from michaels.

michaels had these shadow boxes on clearance (martha stewart’s line) in december and i finally put some photos, shells and other found objects in each one.

here’s a close-up of one.

and a huge painting in our master bedroom from
