so, last week while hitting the thrift store circuit i can across this amazing handmade box. it probably stored tools–it’s solid and awesome. i was so freaking excited. guess how much?? $15!!
but when the husband came home his first words were ‘what’s that?’. not a good sign! the great thing is, he is a good sport and he’s willing to put up with my love for vintage and worn treasures. so, what do you think? is it trash or treasure? should it stay or should it go?

pacific coast home & garden (on santa barbara street in san luis obispo) has a DARLING barn in the back full of pumpkins.

tons of pumpkins to chose from and so artfully arranged. they even have a pumpkin carving area. wouldn’t that be a fun afternoon with friends?! and no mess to clean up!

the boys had a blast exploring the barn and chosing what pumpkins we should take with us.

i really wanted white pumpkins, but alas, we ended up with four orange ones…a daddy, a mommy, a david and a matty pumpkin. perfect!

There must be chicken somewhere in all that food! Looks like Matty is laughing at something Pooh said LOL!!
Alright, here are the winners! I ended up choosing three–randomly on random.org.

My heart is full when I look back over my life at all the ways God has blessed me when I didn’t deserve it. God’s grace is so amazing.

My heart is full at the moment thinking of my sweet cousin whose baby is in the hospital. I don’t know what to do to help her or make her feel better. Her little Jace is 3 weeks old and she’s only been able to hold him twice. He cannot breathe on his own and the doctors don’t know why. When I saw this beautiful necklace it made me think of her. She posted on her blog today, “I carried him next to my heart for 9 months and felt his spirit connect with mine. I feel like he was ripped from my protection and thrown out into this cold world where I can’t do anything to help save him. We feel helpless.” If my name is drawn, I will be giving the necklace to her.
Thanks for sharing what makes your heart full. What a blessing to read thru those comments!! Ladies, email me your addresses and I’ll get your new necklaces in the mail!
some friends have been gracious enough to let me practice my photography on their sweet family. we have an old, metal barn directly across the road from us that made for a fun backdrop.

love the way this shot came together.

little gracie has completely stolen my heart!
i plan to announce the ‘full hearts’ winners tomorrow so check back!
