• Hi, I'm Lisa-mommy to my boys, David, 8 and Matty, 6 and wife to Steve. In between school and work we spend our time playing outdoors on the central coast of CA, eating chocolate chip pancakes, tapping tunes on the piano (David) and choreographing elaborate lightsaber duels (Matty). I create handmade jewelry and love taking pictures. Stick around and get to know us!

really important things you need to know.

seemed like a better title that ‘three completely unrelated things’.

capes.jpg
lindsey over at imperfect is making custom capes. it’s been really nice to have a superhero in the family. i highly recommend it. matty’s has a big ‘m’ on the back and you can choose your own colors for the inside and outside. go check out her blog and email her for more information.

party-dress.jpg
here’s the party dress. it is from target. pretty basic, but it did the job. i wasn’t sure about the ruffles, but i only had one day, so i couldn’t complain! the boots are from ross. $20 and very comfy!

saltshakervase.jpg
need a few christmas gifts?? chrissie (my twin sis and the genius behind flip flops & applesauce) is giving away a $100 gift certificate to lisa leonard designs. you just have to do one of her fun, easy projects with your kiddos and link back. so fun!!

I LOVE Target! Almost all my dresses are from there. Although some days there is nothing then the next…jackpot! You look great!

  2. Karyn on December 3rd, 2008 4:29 pm

I love the ruffles. Ruffles give it an Anthropologie look. The dress is very feminine. You look beautiful!

Love Matty’s Cape. He is a great super HERO!!

OK I am going to Target you have convinced me. I am currently counting up, in my head, all my lost dollars I spent over the years in high dollar stores when I could have had all that cash stashed away for a rainy day!
Do you find that the stuff holds up?
    Your dress looks cutie!

Love the dress! You look beautiful! Can’t beat Target and Ross prices and styles.
I am loving your sister’s site and have given it to several of my friends with children. She has great ideas!

Lisa, you make me laugh. I love the way you word things: “it’s been really nice to have a superhero in the family…”. I miss you!

I’ve been watching your blog for at least 6 months now. I LOVE your stuff! I found you from a good friend I knew in SC… Angela @ Becoming Me. Anyhow, I now live in AZ (my home state) about 2 hours South of Phoenix. I drove to Phx today and bought some yarn to try that fabulous scarf! What a GREAT project. I noticed a Palo Verde tree in the background of your Target party dress picture. I’m thinking you also either live in AZ or CA. Thanks for all the wonderful blogs!
I’ll continue to check in from time to time.
    Blessings,
    Jaime

I LOVE the dress and boots! i LOVE anything you can wear with boots! I might just have to go get that dress, or another one like it-that’s what i love about target-if that color doesn’t work on you, they’ll make the same dress in another color! hope you had fun at the party

Great dress. Yes…Target came through for me too. Went and got a great party dress for a wedding this weekend and maybe even for a New Year’s party. It’s purple, it’s fabulous, it fits me great, and it was $35 bucks!

    Lisa -
I purchased a couple of your necklaces yesterday for my daughters. I absolutely love your work.

I have spent the last hour reading your blog and your story of David. I’m sure you’ve heard this a million times, but I must say, you are an amazing woman with a beautiful soul. David is lucky to have you for a mother. You are so inspiring!
