• Hi, I'm Lisa-mommy to my boys, David, 8 and Matty, 6 and wife to Steve. In between school and work we spend our time playing outdoors on the central coast of CA, eating chocolate chip pancakes, tapping tunes on the piano (David) and choreographing elaborate lightsaber duels (Matty). I create handmade jewelry and love taking pictures. Stick around and get to know us!

back to work blues.

sista

daisies

pop-up-pink

so much to do and for some reason i feel blah.  it was such a sweet weekend–time to talk with my sis and think about life and parenting and life.  time to zoom in on the flowers and really take in their beauty.  probably gonna need an extra cup of coffee today.  and maybe some extra snuggles from two sweet boys.  i’ve got something fun to show you tomorrow.  hugs!

resting.

resting

this weekend steve and i got away without the kiddos.  i knew i needed some time to rest, but i had no idea how much.  it was wonderful to do nothing but sleep in, take walks, watch movies and rest.  it reminded me that i need to plan more time for rest into my week.  more time to set the computer aside and do nothing.  more time to let my body be still and my mind relax.  hope you got some rest in this weekend.

coffee, please.

coffeecup

extra hot, lots of cream, and keep it comin!  how do you like yours??

blue heron.

crane

the other morning, while photographing this family, i spotted a blue heron wading in the low tide.  so i ditched my friends to try to catch a few photos.  i know, fickle aren’t i??  but i love these birds.  they hang out on the central coast but i never seem to have my camera at the right moment.  so i didn’t mind going ankle deep in the tide to steal a couple pics.  and this bird was as tall as i am–no kidding.  then he decided to take flight so i could capture that, too.  beautiful.

let’s celebrate.

i’ve been wanting to celebrate the new website, but i wanted to get all the kinks worked out.  and i think we are good to go!  so in honor of our celebration…two special offers!!

after such a fun/exhausting weekend, i’m not quite ready for monday.  plus, i’m fighting a cold (isn’t everyone?!).  on saturday, i was able to shoot some pics of elias (and his sweet family).  here’s a sneak peek.  more tomorrow.  now off for a second (or maybe third) cup of coffee.

big-boy

you want to eat him up, don’t you??

weekend with friends, day one.

friendsweekend1-2-3friendsweekend2friendsweekend3-2

two of steve’s best guy friends from high school (and still some of his closest friends) are in town with their families for the weekend.  today was full of french toast with strawberries, a tent in the backyard, lightsaber duels, elephants seals and tidepools, pizza, playdough and sorting shells.  tomorrow we’ll wake up and start over.  the boys can hardly sleep they are so excited!  i think i’m gonna sleep reeeally good tonight!!

some sun to share.

yellowa little yellow to brighten your day.  we had an email glitch, but it should be working now, so if you haven’t heard back from me–try emailing me again.  also, the discount codes are being very tempermental, so if you have a discount code and it won’t cooperate, email me at lisa@lisaleonardonline.com.  sending hugs your way!!

strawberries in season.

strawberries-in-season
we stopped on the corner to pick up a basket of strawberries. huge, delicious berries that fill up a five-year-old hand. sweet goodness for smoothies.  the perfect red that makes me smile.  feels like spring!

layered photos.

layered-blossombird22
did you know you can layer images in picnik?  i’ve been having sooo much fun.  you can watch a short tutorial here.  you have to have the upgraded package–i think its about $20 a year.  doesn’t the photo look surreal?  go play!

beach play.

sb1-2sb2-2sb3-2sb4-2

this weekend was full of last minute details for the new website launch, being encouraged by all your comments and straightening out a few glitches.  in between we squeezed in some play time at the beach–where we saw a humpback whale playing near the shore.  amazing!  the first pic of the boys walking toward the shore is my hands-down-favorite for a long time.  happy monday, friends!

we’re live!

largeinitialjewelry3

it’s up and we are sooo excited!  so go check it out and please let me know if you encounter any glitches!!

finishing touches…

new-open-circle-collage.jpg
we are putting the finishing touches on the new website and although it’s been a lot of work, i am thrilled with how it’s coming together. i can’t wait to show you all! it’s sooo cute, it’ll be easier to navigate and we’ve updated a few pieces. the new open circle (pictured) is a bit smaller and thicker and we can can stamp both sides! its hand carved from wax and cast in sterling silver. it has such an organic feel. i know you’ll love it! not long now…

fashion forecast.

sunlightrainboots.jpg
rainboots aren’t just for rainy days any more! they’ll be hot this spring and into the summer. hey, you can even pair them with shorts and tees. at least, that’s what my five-year-old thinks.

*and this is how i partly justify buying him new rainboots in march after his mcqueen rainboots ripped!
