this weekend consisted of a carnival at david’s school (he won an electronic keyboard in a raffle–how perfect?!), serve day at church, a late saturday night date and lots of work.  still catching up from mother’s day.  we are working overtime around here–thanks for being patient!!  hope you have rested and refreshed this weekend!

wednesdays are ‘matty and mommy day’ since david is in school but matty isn’t (he goes M, W, Th).  so this is what matty wore today…racecar driver outfit, cape, boots, and a cowboy hat.  everyone at borders was freak-ing out.  so funny.  i almost told him to chose one accessory, but then i thought, what the heck?  you’re only five once!!

slow mornings.  sunshine. strawberries. sleepovers. extra snuggle time. sunsets. splashing at the seashore. i am so so ready, how about you?

we’re back from la and i got a nice long nap today as a mother’s day treat.  heaven.  the show was a blast (and also exhausting) and we connected with a few celebrities like beverly mitchell (middle daughter on 7th heaven) and scott baio and his wife renee.  tara reid loved our wishing star necklace.  we brought the boys along (with a couple friends to help watch them during the show) and they enjoyed the hotel and pool.  my friend summer (who also helps a TON with the business) helped work the booth.  now i need another weekend at the hotel to enjoy the pool and sleep in!  have a great monday!!

we spent the day in los angeles at a show–so crazy and so fun.  i’ll tell you more about it later, but for now, here is the view from our hotel room this morning and then tonight.  off to sleep!

i just can’t get enough sunshine these days.  and trees.  i’ve got so many photos of trees i could post about them for a week.  and sunlit trees in the afternoon.  perfection!

to consider trying a new recipe for dinner

but decide to visit our favorite taco place instead

to tuck my kids in and give them soft scratchies

what does today feel like to you??

i remember the moment the idea for this necklace came to me.  i was sipping coffee and literally jumped out of my chair to grab a scratch pad.  then i sat right down and made a few mock-ups until i got it right.  i can be kind of ‘focused’ once i get an idea in my head.  i love the way it turned out–so simple and meaningful, plus you can fit quite a few names around the edge.  and it’s one of our best sellers which means you like it too!

nothing fancy, just a rubber ball, a patch of grass and some slick 5-year-old moves.  but while i was editing these photos, it struck me (as it does from time to time) that this is matty’s childhood.  his childhood that he’ll look back on as an adult and reminisce.  little moments that make up bigger memories that blur together.  it feels so big!  i don’t want to underestimate the importance of the everyday.
