I just started using soap nuts, and so far I am pleased with them, but I am keeping a backup bottle of Purex Free N Clear around for my hubby to do his laundry. I’m just happy he can do his own laundry, and trying to get him to convert to soap nuts is just too much! very sweet necklace.

We are a sensitive skin family and either use ALL Free and Clear or Dreft. My 17 month old has very bad allergies and we need to keep things simple for her (and we are expecting daughter #2 in 5 weeks and of course want her clothing washed without fragrance or dyes!). The laundry line necklace is beyond precious and congrats on bringing your beautiful design to life!

I use tide with frebreze in it. I absolutely love how it smells fresh like summer. My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves to help me with the laundry. she helps me carry it from the washer to the dryer and “helps me fold it”. I do take advantage a little because one day she will not want to help mommy with it anymore. i think the way you write, take pictures and make jewlery are such an inspiration not only to mothers but to everyone. i enjoy looking at your page everyday.

I have been making my own detergent for the last 6 months. I just made a batch today!!! I love the process of making it knowing what ingredients are used to launder the clothes my family wears. This necklace would symbolize so much for me. Absolutely fabulous!

Right now we are using some arm & hammer something or other. My husband bought a big box of it for a garage project and gave me what was left over. Usually we go with Costco’s Kirkland brand laundry detergent.

We use anything “free and clear” of dyes and perfumes. Usually it’s ALL, but sometimes Tide or Kirkland’s Environmentally Friendly laundry soap.

I had been using Cheer HE Free and Clear, but I have just started using soapnuts. I also add some OxiClean. I like them so far–I use some lemon essential oil with it, and my laundry smells so good! The necklace is absolutely precious!

We’ve been using the same laundry soap for about 18 years now. It’s called Restore the Earth and is locally (Minneapolis) made. They make several different environmentally friendly cleaning products and the best part is that the containers are refillable at our co-ops and our local Whole Foods. Fabulous necklaces!

This is too, too cute! I’m a mix…. My husband has always been a Tide man, but I thought Gain smelled fresher. Now, I think I’ve gotten so accustomed to Gain that Tide smells better. So I have both on my shelf!

I love the new necklace - we have a high efficiency machine and use Persil - we find it very hard to find in North America (and if you can, it is very expensive). When we have friends visiting from Europe it is a requirement that they bring it with them - as much as they can. We will take that over any chocolate any day!

kirkland brand liquid detergent! ywp, from good ol’ costco. we never use powdered detergent. did you know powdered detergent doesn’t dissolve completely and can irritate the skin. we have sensitive skin here in our casa, so it’s always liquid.

We use ALL Free and Clear 3x concentrated in the super large container. We’re allergic to Tide and many other detergents, and the concentrated/large container minimizes plastic. Wish we could reduce our plastic even more.

I have yet to find one that I would love to stick with… so I float! I smell every single one in the store every time and I pick the one that smells the best. =) So right now I am using Tide but I have used a lot of Small and Mighty before.
Lovely necklace, reminds me of hanging clothes in New Hampshire with my grandma.
We used to use more environmental laundry detergent, low suds, etc., but one day my husband, who is fighting cancer, said he really would like better smelling clothes. With the chemotherapy he has, his smell is really affected, so back to good old Tide from when I grew up.
Seventh Generation is my fave. I also like Biokleen.

We just started using Seventh Generation laundry detergent and love it. It leave our clothes smelling so fresh and it’s considered more of a “green” detergent so it’s better for the environment. I love the your new necklace design…it’s adorable and sweet.

I started making my own several months ago with a mixture of grated soap, borax, baking soda, and essential oils. Works well, is better for our skin, and better for the environment. A cost savings, too!

We usually use whatever it cheapest and for the most part that is the HEB Bravo brand. I just got on of the big new washers and so now I’m using the “HE” kind which I thought was going to be more expensive, but its really not!
I found your jewlery in a magazine before Christmas last year and told my husband I wanted a necklace for Christmas - the initals one with the little circles and the pearl. First of all, I must say that your new laundry necklace is adorable! I absoluetly love it! I am a tide user all the way!!! I use the TIDE HE Rain Scent and it’s liquid. I am also very particular about my stain removers. Amway SA8 solution works wonders on anything greasy (butter, fried things) ect and Spray and wash is great on grass stains. Blood comes out wonderfully when you put Hydrogen peroxide on it. I love clean clothes and I hate stains.

I use Wisk is it great as a stain treatment also….love this necklace…i run a daycare and can see the kids names on it.
I use Tide or Wisk…but for stains, (which is most anything in the laundry is seems), I use Zout and for grease, Watkins degreaser.
My husband used to fuss that I wasted so much time on the laundry, examining, spraying, squirting, etc., He was sure that if I just shoved it all in the washer, it would come out good as new. HA…I broke my ankle and was unable to walk for almost 3 months. He was just shocked to see how his laundry came out. I ended up with a very grateful husband…the hard way, of course!

i use the kirkland brand liquid detergent (costco find, red container) i have to use the same kind because hubs has sensetive skin and brakes out in a rash if i change. the really strange part is that kirkland has a free and clear with no dyes or perfumes and he reacts to it and not the basic kind. the kind we used to use changed their formula and hubs skin freaked out. weird. i know. but he’s mine!
I use Arm and Hammer for sensitive skin detergent as I have always had freaky sensitive skin. This necklace would be awesome as I am a step mom of two kids. The hanging clothes remind me of visiting my Grandma’s house and seeing her clothes on the clothes line.

Before we got our new front loader, I used to make my own laundry detergent using Washing Soda, Borax and some grated Fels Naptha soap. Now I have to use HE, so we use Tide. In place of dryer sheets, I put a few drops of essential oil (lavendar is my favorite) on a washcloth and throw it in with the wet clothes. Saves lots of money and better for the environment!

I love the necklace. Your jewelry is beautiful as is your photography. I read your blog weekly for a little sunny inspiration. My fave detergent is homemade. I am a science teacher and taught my kids how to make homemade household cleaners and found this recipe that I now use at home.
1 quart Water (boiling)
2 cups Bar soap (grated)
2 cups Borax
2 cups Washing Soda
Add finely grated bar soap to the boiling water and stir until soap is melted. You can keep on low heat until soap is melted. Pour the soap water into a large, clean pail and add the Borax and Washing Soda. Stir well until all is dissolved. Add 2 gallons of water, stir until well mixed. Cover pail and use 1/4 cup for each load of laundry. Stir the soap each time you use it (will gel).
I currently have three laundry soaps on the go . . . Tide Free, Zero and Baby Soft. I ADORE the new necklace, it totally rocks!!

SO cute! I use liquid Tide and Oxy Clean. Then bounce dryer sheets when I don’t have the luxury of hang drying!
I love Tide Mountain Spring…….but it’s just too dang expensive. So I’ve been getting SUN burst……from Target and it’s like $2 something a bottle. Smells good too

I try to use very soft detergents… with a jasmine perfume… and it’s so nice when I put them wetting to pass by and they smell so good…

We started using Purex detergent and I love the smell of it. It makes my clothes smell good even when they’ve been sitting in the drawer for awhile. But my MUSTHAVE for laundry with two small boys in my house is OxyClean (God bless Billy Mays!!!!) I have bottles strategically placed throughout the house and sitting next to the washing machine for the stains that have slipped by me while getting the loads ready. It’s a lifesaver!!!

Here’s a little laundry tip—if you have something with yucky odors (and with two boys, I’m sure you NEVER experience that!) throw some vinegar in with your detergent! It works wonders! Hoping I win!

For the longest time we’ve used Dreft here (because DrillSgt. has some SERIOUS allergies), but we finally tried the Kirkland EcoFriendly brand and it worked!! Hooray!!

I am a student, and spend my money on art supplies and paint….. so I typically use whichever laundry detergent is cheapest that month.
My favourite though, is Gain Apple Mango Tango - smells amazing!!
LOVE the new bracelet. I don’t have kids though. I have dropped major hints about my favourite bracelet for my birthday coming up, so hopefully I will have one of my own soon!
I still use Dreft for my 2 and a half year old. Dreft for the baby, too. I just love the way it smells! For our clothes I use a store brand that is free from perfumes and dyes.
We use Norwex. It is a chemical free, fragrance free etc… detergent that works well on my kid’s sensitive skin. Took a little while to get used to not smelling a scent. But it’s been great on their skin!

I use the most awesome laundry detergent that is made by a wonderful soapmaker on Etsy (Heart J Creations). My husband and toddler son both have very sensitive skin and eczema. This is the first detergent I have found that does not irritate their skin but still works, and smells, great! You can also choose from a huge variety of fragrances. I love that, in addition to helping my guys, I am supporting a handmade product.

We use tide with bleach! I spend way too much time doing laundry and I only have 3 children! The necklace is really cute too.

too cute lisa! We use Tide here at the Primm household. I was just telling a friend the other day that I remember my great grandmother using Tide as well as my grandmother and my mom. I think the only reason I use Tide now is because of the smell that I remember as a kid. I am not “brand sensitive” to anything else but I can’t stand the thought of using something different for my clothes!

The laundry line necklace is really cute. We have no allergy issues here so I buy whatever smells nice and is on sale. Sometimes it’s Tide, sometimes Arm & Hammer, often Purex, as long as it’s on sale. However, one smell that is so comforting and inviting, which I haven’t used in years, is Dreft. I love the smell of it, it’s evocative of new motherhood and brings me back to when my boys were infants.
This necklace is adorable!! All your jewelry is amazing. We got one for my mom for mother’s day and I can’t wait to have one of my own… one of these days… one of these days.

We use whatever is on sale but I used to make my own laundry soap. I think in honor of summer I’m going to get back to doing that. It seems like it worked better than store brands and doesn’t contain the perfumes, dyes and fillers that commercial laundry soap does. We’ll see.

My favorite laundry detergent is anything lavender scented! Real lavender scented. Not with that fake vanilla-y lavender smell. Must be real! Costco makes a great lavender scented HE liquid that I love. I add baking soda to the wash for extra cleaning, and dream of having a laundry line outside to hang my clothes on. Sigh. One day. For now I will dry my sheets in a dryer and dream of a time I can dry them outside in the sun, and go to bed, my kids and I, on sweet, sun dried sheets. (o:

How do you come up with such cute things? I love your pieces. I use Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day detergent in Baby Blossom for our 1 year old (it smells SO delightful!) and Gain or All for the rest of us. I hope I have some new “laundry” to wear!
