• Hi, I'm Lisa-mommy to my boys, David, 8 and Matty, 6 and wife to Steve. In between school and work we spend our time playing outdoors on the central coast of CA, eating chocolate chip pancakes, tapping tunes on the piano (David) and choreographing elaborate lightsaber duels (Matty). I create handmade jewelry and love taking pictures. Stick around and get to know us!

it’s starting…

christmas20091christmas20092

*

little bits of christmas are starting to pop up around the house.

it’s a good motivation for cleaning.

this year, we’re sticking with silver and aqua with punches of color.

and there might be christmas music playing, too.

I love the photo of the ornaments and beads in the glass dish! So pretty! I do colors of blue, white and silver, (the only 3 colors we could agree on!) ;)

  7. Traci P on November 19th, 2009 10:45 am

Love the colors! I have been listening to Christmas music in the morning on my way to work out! I love it! Jim Brickman has his new Christmas CD out and it is wonderful!

I love it!!!! The silver theme has always been a favorite of mine and I wish I had a house to decorate! You should try mercury glass… I think you would love it. But come to think of it your chandelier sort of looks like it.

i love the hooks on the ornaments hanging from the light fixture. are they special hooks or did they come with the bulbs?

  10. Rhea on November 19th, 2009 11:31 am

Love the ornaments. Where did you get them? Don’t say Target because I’m from Canada and I absolutely love Target. I also wanted to say how much I love your blog and how honest you are about your life.

  11. lisa on November 19th, 2009 11:37 am

Sorry Rhea! They are from target! And thoselittle hooks are from target too. xo

I started listening to Chrismtas music Monday! l so love this time of year, and it goes too fast. I decided that waiting until the day after Thanksgiving as I normally do, it’s just silly if I’m in the mood. This year, I”m in the mood to start now. :) Enjoy. Love the pretty decor!

  13. Kate on November 19th, 2009 12:04 pm

love it all!!! that wreath is calling my name…Target? can’t wait to see the rest of your decoratiions! i must live vicariously through you right now, since the majority of my Christmas decorations have to stay in their boxes until next week. i say majority, because, well…a few things might have snuck out already, much to my hubby’s dismay! ;-) though for the record it was HE who was listening to Josh Groban’s Christmas album last night!

  15. Donna Norton on November 19th, 2009 12:52 pm

Amy Grant’s Christmas CD is one of my favorites!

Oh yes. This just makes my heart sing. I love it. This year my family is doing a very DIY Christmas. Since budgets are tight..I thought it would be a lot of fun to incorporate new traditions and creativity. Love the colors. Love the decorating. Now it is time to play some Christmas music.

  17. Joanie on November 19th, 2009 1:18 pm

Lovely! (The girls and I just sang several rounds of the 12 days of Christmas, so we’re in the mood!)

Oh I can’t wait till next week when I can start decorating. I just can’t bring myself to decorate until after Thanksgiving, and I mean as soon as the company walks out the door I am decorating. I have been listening to Christmas music though. How I Love the colors you are using. I am using whites and silver this year. The aqua is just beautiful

I just love how you use ordinary items, like a charger or a basket and find a unique and beautiful way to make them look so fancy and decorative. that is my goals this season…to use things I have and find a way to fancy them up and look festive. Last year I used a cake plate and decorated it with candles. I love it!

This year I too feel strong about brightening it up a but. last year we did gold and red, this year I’d like to do silver and purple!

  32. Laura on November 20th, 2009 8:55 pm

OHHHHHHHH, I am sooooo exciting to do something unique for my classroom decoration. I usually do art monthly for elementary klds (1st-4th grade) It gives me lots of potential to look forward.

Lisa, Love the silver and aqua ornaments…soooo pretty! I almost put Christmas music on today since I was hanging the wreaths on the windows and doing a little Christmas decorating. Beautiful photography!

  36. Edyta on November 22nd, 2009 12:34 am

I love the picture with glass ornaments hanging from a chandelier. It takes me back to some wonderful childhood moments because that’s how my grandma used to decorate each Christmas.

  37. Andrea Bridger on November 28th, 2009 1:45 pm

I love your white christmas wreath. Where did you find it? Your blog is wonderful. I can’t wait to order a bracelet.
