• Hi, I'm Lisa-mommy to my boys, David, 8 and Matty, 6 and wife to Steve. In between school and work we spend our time playing outdoors on the central coast of CA, eating chocolate chip pancakes, tapping tunes on the piano (David) and choreographing elaborate lightsaber duels (Matty). I create handmade jewelry and love taking pictures. Stick around and get to know us!

picture framing

pictureframing1

*

i bought the most amazing vintage painting today at the thrift store.

i fell in love!

*

pictureframing6

*

it came with the frame i’m holding in the first pic.

but i really prefer oil paintings unframed with an exposed, wrapped edge.

casual decorating would be a really good way to describe my home.

*

pictureframing2

*

so we took the unneeded frame outside to give it new purpose!

*

pictureframing3

*

chrissie and the girls helped fill the empty frame with a lot of beauty!

*

pictureframing4

*

then matty hopped in.  such a goofball.

he’s so used to me with a camera–but he’s usually up for trying something new.

*

kinda fun, right?

i thought this would be so fun for a christmas picture or engagement photos…

I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a grouping of empty ornate frames on the wall, perhaps in the baby’s room. I love your casual display of the painting, it’s what I prefer too… plus the empty frame make a great photo prop. I’d say you got two items for the price of one. Not bad!

  11. rani on January 25th, 2010 9:44 pm

    very cool photo prop!
