• Hi, I'm Lisa-mommy to my boys, David, 7 and Matty, 6 and wife to Steve. In between school and work we spend our time playing outdoors on the central coast of CA, eating chocolate chip pancakes, tapping tunes on the piano (David) and choreographing elaborate lightsaber duels (Matty). I create handmade jewelry and love taking pictures. Stick around and get to know us!

playing with picnik and various images

to create a collage around the idea of

‘i held the moment in my hand’

i love layering the images

and using pictured with text to tell a story

it really takes the pictures to a new level

when you add a few graphics, a little text and a little layering.

i’ve never been much of a scrapbooker

but i can see how this would be addicting!

Holy criminy. I will resist the dark pull of this possibility of wasting more time. Will. not. go. see. how. this. works…

    But it is lovely.

    And I am weak.

Who needs a clean house anyway? Really, we can turn our clothes inside out and wear them yet again. Why says that groceries must be bought?

    Will. resist. picnik.

    Well, maybe just a peek!

LOVE that. is that layering option only available with premium account? i let mine expire. :(

Hi love the layering look.. I am not a scrapbooker but love mixed media collage so yes it is addictive!! Woke on Sunday morning here in NZ to a nationwide tsunami warning after a large earthquake 8.8 in Chile. Feel for them so… East coast of NZ (not where I am) experiencing tsunami surges right now. How amazing and yes slightly scary! We have been told not to go near any beaches in the whole country for 12 hours as totally unpredictable! Gorgeous sunny day here… and so long to go to the beach! Smiles

<3 I can just imagine printing some of these onto a nice archival paper and tacking them up …. :)
and I just LOVE that quote (”I held the moment in my hands”) because isn’t that how we live? God only gives us a moment at a time, we hold it ever so briefly (O, thank goodness for cameras!!!), and then life moves on whether we are ready or not.
    Thanks for posting!

Lisa, I watched the tutorial. thanks for sharing the link. I’m wondering how to get the pictures or textures that people are using for them. i saw that there are flickr groups with textures and see that you used textured text, but how do you get them into flickr and where do you get them? thanks for sharing.

    love your work.

hoping you all are getting rested and getting well.
