You are so creative! Your jewelry blows me away! I just celebrated my 25th anniversary and my hubby bought me a beautiful diamond and aquamarine necklace to represent he and my kids.. I love it, I truly do and it’s a beautiful representation of our 25 years together. bit of wisdom - take it one day at a time - i struggle with this, but trying to live in the moment frees us from the fears and worries about the what-ifs and from getting stuck in the past.
Oh, I love it! I love that it has the second little pendant on there as well! I’ve been thinking about getting one of your necklaces, but we’re currently ttc, and I wouldn’t want to leave baby out, so this would be perfect, I could just add him/her on later! Would you be able to do that? That would be kinda neat.

I have recently realised that certain people are only interested in causing drama worthy of the latest high school based tv show. So my advice is to put time and energy into building friendships with the people who want only the best for you. The hard (but important) part is to do this without creating drama yourself and remain the bigger person by letting them destroy their own reputation without your help…

the wisdom around here is *take the high road*. we’ve had some tough days on the teenage peer front. but in the end it feels a whole lot better to know you were true to yourself, and did the good, honeset and right thing. “whoo do you love?” …sometimes it’s good to love your true self…right here, right now!

But I’ve learned to accept the tragic events that have happened in my life and I think they have all made me stronger through my faith in God, I know there is a grand plan! I went to church Sunday after a while of not going and it was great!! The message spoke to me and my hubby directly…as it always seems after we’ve been away for a bit!
The message was great…and some wisdom that I imparted was - there’s a time to rest and a time to work…you don’t have to do it all…it’s ok to rest for a bit to recharge…so you can offer your best self to those that you love…how can u be a good wife and mommy if you’re feeling so worn out and run down…?? So true!! Oh and my big boy stayed in the nursery for the first time and did so great - I’m so proud of him…he’s almost 18 mths. old and growing up so fast on me!

I love owls. They seem calm in their demeanor. Watching, learning and responding with a comforting “whoo”. I have pictures of owls in my home and they remind me to watch and react softly always remembering “who” my children are, “who” I am and “Who” entrusted them to my care.

My mom told me once that, “one day all of the dishes will be done and your laundry will be caught up and it will be the saddest day of your life, quit worrying about your house and go play in the yard while you can!!!” I repeat that to myself every time I freak out that there are dirty dishes overflowing the sink and the laundry pile is taller than me…and then I put on my shoes and go play. The time with my kids is the time that is fleeting and the dishes and laundry can get done in my spare time.

As the mom of two teenage boys, I try to think that God has a plan and everything will work out the way it should. This piece is adorable, I would love it.
This is a two part piece of wisdom. My word of the year is better. So my piece of wisdom is always try to better yourself and be better than you are. For me that means being more productive at work, working out more, staying organized etc.
I love it! My wisdom is to take life one day at a time, one step at a time. Also, worrying about the future never actually helps, it just causes stress. Trying to remind myself of those two things today :).
Here is my little boy’s favorite piece of wisdom- “you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit!”

Loving the new stuff!!
My second child is now 8 months old (a 6.5 year gap between kids) and my mantra this year has been, “Feel the fear, but do it anyway.” Although I am an educated woman who has already been a parent for 7 years, I am desperately afraid to “fail” in the mothering department. These last 8 months have been hard on the family, but it has also been a huge lesson in humility. I knew we needed help for a variety of issues (sleep deprivation, post partum depression, sibling rivalry, etc.), but I was afraid to ask for it. After seeing the toll these issues were taking on my family, I bit the bullet and asked for help. The anxiety and fear were almost crippling, but I did it anyways. Now looking back, I know I did the right thing by asking the experts: sleep consultant, psychologists, medical doctors. Now we are a functioning family (sort of
). I acknowledged the fear, but didn’t let it prevent me from doing the right thing as a mother.

Lisa you just keep getting better and better. I absolutely love this piece. It is my favorite thing you have ever done. Owls hold a special place in my heart. My dad started this little “hootie hoo” saying when I was little. Then it passed on to my best friend who is like my sister. We would always say hootie hoo to each other as a term of endearment. Now we get each other little owl gifts whenever we can find them, a doormat, a jewelry dish, a candle, cards, etc. Her oldest child is talking now and I had her saying it…She was saying ” hoot hoot”. We even had a special visitor one Christmas Eve at my grandparents house…A beautiful white snow owl sat on the cornucopia. I would love to have the hootie hoo necklace for my “sister” Meghan. Thanks for conjuring up all the memories today!

I love this! My oldest is so into owls right now and this is adorable. Dont’ know that i can offer much wisdom other than just to take every day as it comes, minute by minute. At least in my world, it’s bound to change back and forth that quickly so I can’t dwell on how good (or bad) it is at any one time. I just have to enjoy it as it comes!

This necklace would be perfect since all three of my babies will be out of the nest soon. Oldest son is a senior in college and will graduate in May. Younger son will leave in May for Air Force Basic training. And our baby girl, will graduate from high school and be attending a University 250 miles away where the mascot is guess what? An owl!

Since then, some very serious, sad things have happened and honestly, the ability to still laugh at life’s absurdity, and yes–even humor that still transpires every day–has been a breath of fresh air to me. Thank God for people who make me laugh and typos that cause me to write “thong” when I really just mean that innocuous little word, “thing.” The difference is truly amazing.

I love taking pictures of my boys, but I’ve come to realize that as much as I want to capture memories on film, I don’t want to miss the MOMENTS. So, my advice is to take pictures but also just take it in.
I have a long way to go before I can give others wise words, but I would think if you keep Christ first in your life, everything else will fall into place. I will try to win one, but I will definitely get one for my niece - I just have to think of something wonderful to put on it.

We’ve moved around an awful lot in the past few years, latest move was 6 months ago and was very unexpected. I repeat this little phrase often when I’m being threatened by the “it’s so not fair” thoughts!
This one might have to become my favorite! I don’t know if I have much wisdom to share, but something I’m working on is trying to say “no” less and “yes” more. After uttering, shouting, and saying “no” through a clenched jaw about 100 times a day it has been wearing me out! Hopefully learning to let go and relax a bit more will help me enjoy where I am with my babe and spruce up my mood as well.

2. A good friend is far more precious than gold.
3. Find something nice to say to and compliment everyone you come in contact with. One kind word can change someone’s entire day.
4. Enjoy each moment, mess and miracle with your kids. They are grown and gone far, far too fast.
Everyday might not be good, but there is good in everyday. My mom always shares this with me. I love the owl. Thank you for your sweet blog and website.

My mom always told me “Be the job, big or small, do it well or not at all”. As a kid, I would usually prefer the not at all part while doing chores, but she instilled a good work ethic in me. I actually just used the line on my husband a couple of weeks ago
My aunt and God Mother Karol LOVED owls, and one of my most treasured possessions is an owl from her collection (she passed away unexpectedly, 2 years ago).

My advice would be to enjoy each day because time flies! In other words, I can’t believe that I almost have a teenager on my hands as the oldest and my youngest will be going to kindergarten next year! The days have just flown by and sometimes I feel like I didn’t enjoy those “younger years” enough!
I’m getting sad thinking about that so I now need to think about how cute that new necklace is….I love it and since owls are the craze around our house right now (my 3rd grader had to make & write a paper on an animal and she chose an owl) it would be wooooonderful! Thanks!

My tiny bit of wisdom: If the side of mom’s head hits the car door window, the teenage driver probably took that turn a little too fast! I really used this measurement for my son when he had his learner’s permit. He had a hard time slowing down enough when coming off the highway to our subdivision! Ouch!

I love this new little owl, and I too have two boys who love to see their names around my neck. I had a life changing experience happen to me a couple of months ago, that taught me a very valuable life lesson - as mothers, we always take care of others around us. But, in order to be the best mother, we need to remember to put ourselves first sometimes, and take time for the things we love. It is so important to keep the balance in our lives. “A healthy mother equals healthy children.”

Whether they are good or bad times, moments pass quickly. I am trying to remember this as I have two of my four littles ones in diapers right now.
Just keeping working at it “little by little” and you’ll get there. That is my piece of wisdom. It is often used lately for my children. At 4 and 6 they are trying a lot of new things. Sometimes they get discouraged easily, but I try to show them that they can break almost anything down into little pieces, have a small success and then they are closer to their goal.

ok, here is my very PRACTICAL piece of advice… whenever you want something new, whatever it is, you cannot buy it without knowing what “something old” you will go home and get rid of. For example, I want a new pair of shoes, I can get them as long as I give away an old pair at home. This always keeps your stuff managable and often keeps me from buying new-to-me unless I know of what I can get rid of at home. I love this necklace!!!

My one piece of advice is this, “Listen to your mom.” My mom, Hootie, always has the BEST advice. For far too long, and even still occasionally, I think I have a better understanding of things, but inevitably, my mom does know best. My teenage boys and husband even go to her for advice–advice on problems, home improvement projects, and God-stuff! Grandma Hootie rocks! You gotta love Grandma Hootie’s good ole Southern wisdom!

When I find myself stressing about something, I stop and ask myself if it is so important that is would be an epitaph on my headstone. And when the answer is “no”, I stop the stressing. Just ask yourself if what you’re worked up about is so important that people will remember it in a year or a month or even a day. And most times, the answer is no…it will never be remembered. But how you deal with the stress will be. Puts a whole new perspective on things.

Hrmm…some of the best wisdom I have gotten was from my parents when I got married- they told my husband and I to make sure to always take care of one another.

I was given some wise advice from parents who had their first child exactly 3 months before we had ours…. “Don’t ever say you can’t wait until your baby can do ____! Soon enough s/he will, and you’ll have missed what came in the meantime!”

What a sweet necklace. My wisdom is limited…i’m still learning. How about “always speak to someone the way you would like to be spoken to.” It’s amazing how we can speak to those we love when we are hurt or angry…take a deep breath and remember how much you love them before you get the chance to hurt them.

I adore all your work! I think for Father’s day I need to get one of your bracelets for my husband. My words of wisdom is especially for new moms. It is to not worry so much about the house being perfect because things pass away but your kids will remember if you were able to drop doing things and spend time with them! And they will know they are loved.

love owls….they are just so fun and make me happy! something i have learned lately is that we are given trials to help make us better people. sometimes we don’t know why we have to go through certain trials, but they are to help us and there is a God who really does know and understand and loves us. He also always knows what is best! I recently lost my baby…I was 31 weeks pregnant and at the time it was really hard, but now, I can see how blessed I am and am so happy that I have a great family and can still have children.

I have a bracelet that I absolutely love. It was a gift when about 7 months pregnant with our second son and seeing all our names together made it so real. Now that I’m back at work and the baby is almost 3 months old, I feel like looking at our 4 names together there grounds me. My wisdom is to try to remember that work is a job, not your life, your life is at home. So when work is rough, it’s not the thing that matters, it’s okay.

I LOVE the necklace. You’re designs are so whimsical. It’s a good reminder to not take everything so seriously and just chill out and relax a bit. Sometimes, the stuff we get all worked up about just doesn’t matter in the end. Hey, I guess that’s my “wisdom from the owl”
The other thing that I try to remember is from the book ‘The Happiness Project’. The author (also a mom) reminds herself that “the days are long, but the years are short”. This is so true. Before I know it, I am going to be old and gray wishing for just one more day of changing diapers, drooly open mouth baby kisses, playing Operation and reading bedtime stories. Even on the craziest of days, I try to remember that these ARE the days I have been waiting for all my life and THESE are the ones I will miss once they’re gone.
Treat others as you would like to be treated; and SMILE!!!

I’m sitting here holding my sleeping infant son and thinking that the wisest words I’ve heard (and that mommas of young children can get tired of hearing) is to enjoy these times because they’ll soon be gone. When I can’t get any work done because I don’t have two (or one) hands free or when my three year old doesn’t want me to leave her at night and asks for just one more cuddle when I want to rush off for me time, I try to remember how much I’ll look back on this and wish for one more nap in my arms or cuddle at bedtime.

I love this necklace in particular! My mom passed away very suddenly, and when she gave me advice, she always told me that I should listen to the “Wise Old Owl.” I have to tell you, she wasn’t old, but she was very wise. Since her passing, I see owls everywhere, a reminder that she is with me still. I’d love a chance to win this necklace to keep Mom close to my heart.

This cool owl design is my favorite so far! When my son (now 5) was a baby, owls were his favorite animal and he has a whole collection of them. He used to sit on my lap at the computer and watch barn owl videos. Now I take him to the nature center to see the screech owl, Oskar, in person.

I just ordered this for a friend’s birthday and I have to admit it was a hard gift to give b/c I wanted one for myself.
It is baseball season in Texas and here is my words of wisdom - No matter how badly you want to help, do not join a board of a sporting group (I hope that doesn’t sound too bitter). Stay a parent and enjoy watching your child(ren) learn how to play a sport and be a teammate.
