  3. mary on March 20th, 2010 8:29 am

I love both Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice but if I had to choose it would be Sense and Sensibility because the older daughter’s steadfastness and mature acceptance of her fate gave way so delightfully to her unexpected reunion with her love.

  4. Angela E. on March 20th, 2010 8:32 am

How can you pick just one book?! I love them all… but I will go with Emma for today! Love the family crest necklace. :)

  5. Alicia on March 20th, 2010 8:37 am

I love them all and can’t choose just one but I do love Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. The necklace is a perfect fit with all that Jane Austen wrote. Lovely!!

  6. Sharon Wing on March 20th, 2010 8:39 am

Love Pride and Prejudice! (Love all Jane Austen!) Elizabeth Bennett’s witty and romantic take on life is so spirited! Love her. Love the family crest necklace and all of your designs!

  7. Bronwyn Poth on March 20th, 2010 8:40 am

My husband and my all time favorite book, movie and soundtrack is Pride and Prejudice. I’ve been married to the love of my life for 18 yrs now. We were married after only spending a week and one day together. He is a submariner and while he is at sea, we are able to email. Without fail every email ends with ” I love you most ardently, Jason” and without fail I get goose bumps. I’m blessed to have the privilege to walk hand in hand into the future with the most amazing man I have ever met.

  8. S Club Mama on March 20th, 2010 8:49 am

I am not going to lie and say I’ve read any of them. I’ve never actually had the opportunity to do so. BUT…if I won, I would say Sense & Sensibility because it’d be the only one I’d have read.

Love, love, love Pride and Prejudice. I loved when I was on maternity leave a few years ago because I had countless hours to watch and rewatch the film….Ummm, tomorrow it is going to rain here in Indy, that gives me an idea!

  12. Tara on March 20th, 2010 8:58 am

Ohh! Pick me for this romantic give-a-way! Sense and Sensibility is my favorite!

  14. Amy on March 20th, 2010 9:00 am

  17. Sarah on March 20th, 2010 9:06 am

While I love Pride and Prejudice, I’d have to say right now that Emma is my favorite Austen novel. But I love all things Austen (except for insane neo-Victorian “redos”).

  18. Rebecca on March 20th, 2010 9:06 am

Sense and Sensibility is the one!

  19. lizibeth on March 20th, 2010 9:07 am

I’d have to say Sense and Sensibility, which is also my hubby’s favorite out of the movies (yes, he DOES watch them with me! …..sometimes, that is). I also love the bird dish in the photo. It’s so darling. :)

  20. Michele on March 20th, 2010 9:09 am

I love ALL her books…my library has very old copies and I just love the smell of them…transports you to that world. My favorite of all time though is Emma….which is my little girls names…..I love that whole period, the dresses, the hair, the romance……Beautiful piece, awesome giveaway!

  21. Monica @ The Writer Chic on March 20th, 2010 9:12 am

Hmm…..fav Jane? Emma? Masnsfield Park? Probably have to go with P&P, though. ;)

  22. Courtney Cloud on March 20th, 2010 9:13 am

Jane Austen is my all time favorite author. Her books have brought me through some really rough time. I absolutely love the Colin Firth version of Pride and Prejudice! My mom had it on VHS and we watched it so much she had to buy another copy! I have already decided that when we have a little girl her name will either be Lizzy or Bennet in honor of the great Miss Elizabeth Bennet. So, of course, my favorite is Pride and Prejudice.

I would absolutely love to be considered for your giveaway. You necklaces are absolutely beautiful!

  23. LizL on March 20th, 2010 9:17 am

Pride and Prejudice. Sigh. Thanks for the giveaway.

  24. Michelle on March 20th, 2010 9:18 am

Most definitely Pride and Prejudice; Elizabeth Bennet is easily my favorite heroine in literature. What an incredible giveaway! *fingers crossed*

  25. Southern Gal on March 20th, 2010 9:22 am

That necklace is classic elegance. Love it. Thanks for the chance to win.

  26. Bethany on March 20th, 2010 9:22 am

What a charmed idea!!! Oh my goodness, how can you pick a favorite!?!? Pride & Prejudice goes near the top, but I also love Emma and Mansfield Park. =)

  27. megan on March 20th, 2010 9:23 am

Pride and Prejudice!! I am an English teacher and would love to show off a new book to my class and add to my collection, along with a beautiful necklace!

  31. Clare on March 20th, 2010 9:27 am

They filmed some of Pride and Prejudice near to where I live in Sudbury, its only five minutes from my house (has an excellent adventure playground) & at Chatsworth house just under an hour away, we are lucky to have these places near to us, She is supposed to have written Pride & prejudice in Bakewell which is also close by. I think that one is my favorite due to all the local connections x

  32. Kristi on March 20th, 2010 9:28 am

Pride and Predjudice is my all time fav! Love it! What a fun giveaway and I love that necklace!

I don’t know how, but I have yet to read a Jane Austen novel! I spent most of my former life as an English major reading Mark Twain and such. It’s about time I get acquainted with Austen’s classics.

  36. Stesha on March 20th, 2010 9:35 am

  55. Erin G on March 20th, 2010 10:13 am

I just adore Pride and Prejudice. I could just read it over and over again…and sometimes I do!

  56. Jenny Matlock on March 20th, 2010 10:16 am

I hate to be cliched and say “Pride and Prejudice” but I will.

    Say it.

    Pride and Prejudice.

Please don’t be prejudiced against my lack of originality.

    And please.

    Pick me.

But only if you want to.

Because then I would feel immense Pride.

    Sorry.

My brain just doesn’t quit sometimes and I somehow lost the off switch between brain and fingers.

    Have a happy Saturday!

  57. Becky on March 20th, 2010 10:17 am

I know that this is not what you meant by “favourite novel”, and I am going to offend many people by saying this, but I loved Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (a mashup between Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith).

There is no one better than Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. I loooooooooooove him.

This necklace is beautiful and I have a wonderful friend who would ADORE this.

My favorite Austen novel is Persuasion. I love P&P and S&S too, but Persuasion is so different than the others. Would LOVE to win this! If you love Austen, you should check out the mini-series “Lost in Austen.” It’s the story of an Austen-lover who ends up trading places with Elizabeth Bennet and causes all sorts of changes in the P&P story. Very cute. :)

  116. Susan Robinson on March 20th, 2010 11:08 am

Jane Austen is my favorite author. I love all of her classics and have probably read them all several times over, but Emma has to be my favorite. Did you know she was writing a third novel, but died before it was finished? She also died before two of her written novels were published. They were published after her death. What a talent. I will also post this giveaway on my blog. I hope I win.

Such a beautiful vintage cover on Sense & Sensibility, and how very creative of you to put this lovely give-away together.
Austen lit pairs most perfectly with the family crest necklace, with an “L” of course.

    Without hesitation or further consideration,
Sense & Sensibility has captured my heart.

“She felt the loss of Willoughby’s character yet more heavily than she had felt the loss of his heart.”
    ~Marianne, Chapter 32.

I’m actually reading Sense and Sensibility right NOW! I just love the little details she writes about homes and books and cozy night time fires and dinners….Pride and Prejudice is the classic….but I would have to say that I love love love S and S…..There’s a great fiction book, The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen by Syrie James….it’s sooooooo good….you forget it’s fiction….then I found, (in the bargain bin at Barnes and Noble) Old Friends and New Fancies….by Sybil G. Brinton. It was written in 1913, and it’s the first ever Jane Austen sequel….

Anyway, I’m such a book nerd that my perfect evening is to watch Jane Austen movies, with a book in my lap and a cat on the back of my chair….. In fact, a Jane Austen quote I have taped insdie my kitchen cabinet is, “Ah, there’s nothing like staying home for real comfort!!” :)) Pick me! Pick me!!

  167. Cindy on March 20th, 2010 12:50 pm

…and I would do another entry on Facebook, but I gave that up for Lent…. :)

what a cute romantic idea! perfect for the first day of spring. i like Persuasion best. I know it’s one of her least popular, but i like how level-headed and kind the main character is and how she stays true to herself even though her family is nuts and she has to wait so long for love. :)

  340. Kristi on March 20th, 2010 6:12 pm

Oh… which one is my favorite? Definitely Pride and Prejudice. I have probably watched both the old 6-hour version and the new version at least 10 times each. There is something about Mr. Darcy and Lizzie that makes you incapable of either turning away or not wanting to come back again. My heart still flutters when I hear Mr Darcy say, “I have struggled in vain and can bear it no longer. I love you, most ardently.” Awwwww… Romance. Persuing the one you love. Happy endings. Jane Austen.

I just can’t pick a favorite Jane Austen book — and I can’t take a chance on winning this give-a-way either, so I’m going to snap up the family crest necklace THIS VERY MINUTE!

This will be the third LL piece I’ll own and each and every one is my “ALL TIME FAVORITE!” Thank you, Lisa, for this sweet and timely sale. I needed a ray of sunshine today, and it came in the form of YOU…

I’m currently on my tenth day of complete bed rest after being diagnosed with a blood clot in my right leg. I’m getting a high dose of painful injections every twelve hours and with the exception of being able to sit up to eat for a few minutes have been flat on my back — and will be for at least the next week to ten days.

Tonight, I asked permission to trade my sit up to eat time to check a few blogs, and you made it so worth it!

    oxox,
    Destiny

(Prayers are appreciated! My blood pressure is dangerously high which poses its own set of problems. On the praise side, I haven’t been able to take a deep breathe for days, and have finally been able to today!)

  359. Jennifer L on March 20th, 2010 7:40 pm

What a great giveaway! I love Jane Austen and I love this necklace!! If I have to choose a favorite Jane Austen book it would be “Northanger Abbey”. I think it might be time to pull this one off the shelf and read it again. :)

  399. LeeAnne on March 20th, 2010 9:41 pm

It doesn’t get any better than Pride & Prejudice. I’ve read the book many times, seen both of the most recent movie adaptations (Colin Firth, Keira Knightley) many times, and I was recently given the “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” book as a gift. Should be interesting…

  400. kara f. on March 20th, 2010 9:46 pm

    hmmmm. .. ‘Persuasion’ i love. (:

  414. Lori Danelle on March 20th, 2010 10:48 pm

Pride & Prejudice. I can’t help it. I’ve read it at least once a year for the last 15 years. Mr. Darcy makes my heart skip a beat & Colin Firth will never be any one but him to me. **Swoon. What makes me even more amazed by Austen’s books is the depth of writing she produced at such an early age, living such a sheltered life. Love her. Love her. Love her.

In fact, I can’t sleep right now and need a “new” book to read. . .Hmm.

  415. Kathy on March 20th, 2010 10:51 pm

Absolutely Pride and Prejudice! Would love to win the book and the gorgeous family crest necklace–both classics!

  416. Wendy Orme on March 20th, 2010 10:52 pm

    Mansfield Park!!

  423. Nicci Roylance on March 20th, 2010 11:15 pm

I love Pride and Prejudice, but I just read Persuasion and fell in love with the story. So I’d say it’s a toss up right now with me loving both. Plus I love watching all the movies. My husband won’t admit it but he loves Pride and Prejudice mainly for the part when Lizzie tells off Mr. Darcy he will ask me to come tell him when that part is on just to watch it. I think its cute. Anyways love all your jewelry.

  424. Ruthie on March 20th, 2010 11:24 pm

Goodness….I love them all in their own way. Probably neck and neck tie between S&S and Mansfield Park….with P&P and Emma close behind. I never really connected with Persuasion.

Eleanor Dashwood? Fanny Price? Elizabeth Bennett? Emma? Zoinks…how to choose? They are all amazing!

  425. Jill on March 20th, 2010 11:32 pm

    Emma is my favorite

  430. Samantha on March 21st, 2010 12:03 am

Pride and Prejudice was the first Jane Austen book I read and the first movie adaptation of her novels I saw, so it has a special place in my heart!

  438. Emily on March 21st, 2010 2:07 am

P&P for sure……..but maybe that’s just because when I read it, I always think about Colin Firth SHIRTLESS, diving into a lake!! ;-) Northanger Abbey is always interesting, though, and S&S is good too (yay Emma Thompson). Oh well, just have to admit that I like them all!

  439. Sonia on March 21st, 2010 5:25 am

  444. Amy Cooper on March 21st, 2010 7:04 am

While I love Pride and Prejudice to no end, Persausion is my all time favorite. The awkward situations, the hopelessness felt, followed by the glipses of hope and finally the unparalled joy that love brings. These are the books my kids heard as bed time stories, until they were old enough to want pictures, of course.

  445. Gretchen T on March 21st, 2010 7:12 am

Of course I love Pride and Prejudice, but I have to say that I also really like Northanger Abbey because it’s so different from her other books.

And, of course, I would love to win!

  446. faith sheehan on March 21st, 2010 7:24 am

3/20 is my wedding anniversary !!. We have been married 22 years !! Today was a beautiful 70 degree day in PA, unlike the day I got married. It snowed that morning and I was in panic. It was the 1st day of spring and I had other ideas for the forecast. Anyway, 22 years of romance and love and support.

  447. peachgirl07 on March 21st, 2010 8:09 am

I’m embarassed to say, especially since I have a degree in English, that I have read none of them. I’ve always wanted to and just never have. I did watch Pride and Prejudice and love it, but still haven’t read it…
I HAVE, however, been eyeballing your jewelry for quite some time, though!!

  459. Adella on March 21st, 2010 11:01 am

I gonna have to go with the flow……Pride and Prejudice. And I love both Hollywood and BBC productions. It’s fun having both to watch depending on your time restraints. I hope I win, I love the necklace.

  460. Erin Anselm on March 21st, 2010 11:11 am

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite novel. I named my first daughter Emma, though, for the novel and my last Lucy Jane–Lucy for Lucy in Sense and Sensibility and Jane for the author, of course!

and facebooked it on my page!

  461. Krystal on March 21st, 2010 11:18 am

Ooooh, a giveaway after my own heart! It’s cliche, but I think Pride and Prejudice is my favorite. It always has been, even before I’d seen even one movie version. I also really like Emma and Persuasion. Actually, if you want the truth, I love them all. I enjoy them all for different reasons, and I could read them over and over again without tiring of them. Thanks for doing this!

  477. Lori-Anne on March 21st, 2010 12:50 pm

There’s a reason Pride and Prejudice is Austin’s most well-known and well-loved novel. I’s just a classic, with characters that are imperfect but enduring and so easy to love. I think the A&E (aka Colin Firth version) of the story captures its essence perfectly. Oh, and I’m also rather smitten with your crest necklace!

  478. Malory H on March 21st, 2010 1:14 pm

A group of friends and I recently started a Jane Austen book club, the first we have read is Pride and Prejudice so it is very special to me. I also visited Bath recently and learnt lots about Jane Austen, such a talented woman.

  486. Ms. Random on March 21st, 2010 2:08 pm

It is so hard to choose just one favorite, but I would have to say Sense and Sensibility. I can so relate to Miss Marianne; constantly awaiting the passionate romance I have always dreamt of to begin! I feel things deeply just as she does and I tend to get wrapped up in my own feelings and drama because of it.

As someone who loves all things Austen, this is such an amazing opportunity! Thanks so much!

Pride & Prejudice is my favorite with Emma second. Someday I hope to read Persuasion…it’s just a matter of picking up a copy & sitting down with it. Someday…

    What a beautiful giveaway.

  502. Connally on March 21st, 2010 5:16 pm

That’s a hard question - but it’s Persuasion, hands down, in my book. Contains quite a bit of waiting, which I am horribly unpracticed at, but such a good motivator. Be patient and end up with the guy you loved all along - untraditional love story. Miss Austen is simply brilliant.

  503. Gina on March 21st, 2010 5:19 pm

Pride and Prejudice is my favourite. Love the book, love the movie (the 1940 version), just love it. Elizabeth and Mr Bennett are my favourites.

If you love Austen, you must see Lost in Austen, such a quirky and fun take on Jane Austen and particularly Pride and Prejudice.

  514. Lindsay Lee on March 21st, 2010 7:03 pm

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE! I can read that book over and over again!

  515. Zarna on March 21st, 2010 7:03 pm

I have to say Pride & Prejudice! (Mainly because it’s the only one I’ve read lol but sense & sensibility and Emma are on my “to read” lists)
But seriously, pride and prejudice is fantastic! Love it, love Mr Collins’ proposal, I just love how unromantic it is - I mean who can(not) resist his “reasons” for marrying… setting the example, and that he was told to get married to someone who hadn’t been brought up “too high”. Plus he proposed to his cousin!

  516. Christy Q on March 21st, 2010 7:09 pm

Pride and Prejudice is my fave…. and I just love that BBC movie too… Colin Firth makes me swoon… :)

Favorite Austin book is Mansfield Park. When you meet the right person you just “know”.
“I pay very little regard…to what any young person says on the subject of marriage. If they profess a disinclination for it, I only set it down that they have not yet seen the right person.” Mansfield Park
