• Hi, I'm Lisa-mommy to my boys, David, 8 and Matty, 6 and wife to Steve. In between school and work we spend our time playing outdoors on the central coast of CA, eating chocolate chip pancakes, tapping tunes on the piano (David) and choreographing elaborate lightsaber duels (Matty). I create handmade jewelry and love taking pictures. Stick around and get to know us!

this weekend was so inspiring.

the sunshine alone was enough to make me smile all day.

we took the days slow

and really soaked up the amazing weather and time together.

since steve is training for a century (100 mile bike ride)

i took the boys to cambria on saturday.

we had so much fun!

we peeked in a few shops,

grabbed burgers at old stone station

and let the sun warm our shoulders.

oh, i can’t forget ice cream. yum.

i got a big top cupcake and matty and baked it up.

it turned out great-i had to trim off the bottom to make it even-but it is really cute.

i’m definitely not ready to part with traditional cupcakes, i love individual desserts.

there is an amazing bead shop in cambria–it’s like a candy shop.

* * *

we’ve been making an effort to turn off the tv

and spend that time creating.

for us, creating mean baking, sketching, molding, picture taking, painting and playing.

getting the house organized has really helped clear my brain and energize me.

*

what’s inspiring you?

how are you flexing your creative muscle?

AND come get inspired and play tomorrow night!

Spring boutique presented by the Stitch Market

I’ll be there with lots of jewelry.

and it’s at the most amaaazing house in Arroyo Grande, 6-9pm Tuesday 3/30.

Well the rain is not inspiring, neither is the forecast for snow tomorrow! So we’re having to rethink our Easter holiday plans. Like you, less TV and more creating. My new cupcake book has inspired a fresh batch of just cooling cupcakes:)

lisa, i love the pictures you take. what camera do you use? and what elements are you using to edit your photos, if you don’t mind me asking.

Well, our home underwent wuite a change in less than 24 hours- bought a new grill for my hubby to ‘create’ with, and then I got a cool dresser/buffet to paint for FREE that is transforming my dinig room and helping me to be more organized, so that it’s easier to sew! :) I have been doing much sewing lately, too! :)

little b-mans bday party was yesterday…i spent 14 hours the day before cleaning/purging/donating/gifting tons of STUFF. it’s amazing when you clear the clutter, your mind clears and is open to new ideas too!

I have finally dragged my embroidery machine out of the cupboard and starting making all the baby things that everyone has been asking me for. It has been ages since I’ve done any sewing and I haven’t realised how much I’ve missed it!
My boys are on holiday now, so we are going to be doing alot of baking, working in our vegetable garden and anything crafty.

i think clearing the clutter and just getting the usual household chores finished — in anticipation of our Easter guests in three days is already making me want to create. our menu for the weekend upcoming, treats for the kids to find and goodies to send in the mail are a few things that will allow me to stretch my creative fingers. also getting some lovely knitting out and sitting in the decadent sunshine!!! thank you Lord for this amazing weekend upcoming - the joyful celebration of our Risen Savior causes all of creation to create!!

hi elle {and everyone!} i use a nikon D5000 and my favorite lens is an 18-105. great for zooming and really good clarity. i edit in iphoto (for macs) and usually lighten a bit, and antique. i make collages in picnik.com. hope this helps!! xo

We have been inspired by sunshine, less tv, more challenges for ourselves (and a new blog to document) and lovely little ladies to cuddle. We also have been clearing out our hosue and created a beautiful place to display my grandfather-in-law’s art - he is an amazing wood carver. He can make anything and it’s so realistic!
    Love the photos!

I am inspired this week by the lovely weather - 66 right now - with lots of sunshine. makes me want to get back out on my patio and finish repainting the furniture so I can serve my family dinners out there! It’s so nice to eat al fresco - I just have some sprucing up to do!

What a great idea. I’m going to try and keep the t.v. off and see how many other things I can do instead…maybe I need to get off of the computer for a little bit too. I love your photos. Very beautiful.

Your photography inspires me. I love your pics. Spring is also working its magic. Hopefully it will awaken the creativity that has been hibernating.
