what i wore wednesday

hello! wow it’s wednesday but i am so in christmas mode and out of my regular schedule! only 3 days until christmas yay!!

and i’m linking up with lindsey for what i wore wednesday {click here to see her blog!}

this feels like such a cozy, basic ME outfit.

black ruffle top, local boutique

black cardi {with lace back} gift from scotland

jeans, banana republic

boots, my fave jessica simpson {which or no longer available, boo!}

this outfit was a bit stretching for me. i got the dress which was crazy marked down at anthro {from $270 to $60}. but’s it’s so ruffly so it felt really dressy. finally i just paired it with some frye boots and a target cardi and wore it on a school/work day. it ended up being really comfortable and fun!

this outfit was different for me since it was more form fitting and i usually wear dresses or flowly tops. a bunch of friends commented on how different it was for me.

striped 3/4 sleeve top, on sale at gap $10

brown camisole, local boutique

jeans, anthro

boots, frye

scarf, target

I wanted to quickly thank you for the tute on how to pretzel tie a scarf. I always wondered how you got that look. Ive been using the technique since you posted and have gotten numerous compliments and people asking me “how do you tie your scarf like that?” So apparently its a common question.
You looked great this week. Have a very Merry Christmas!(I was hoping hubby picked up my 5 million hints about wanting a LL necklace but I dont think he did:( Its really all I wanted.

  4. Summer here in Aus.
Weather not that warm this week though, but meant to warm up for Christmas day.
We will be enjoying our day here in our little beachside house,w hile you guys are trying to stay warm on the other side of the world.
You always look fabulous Lisa and I really like you in the stripe top. (I am a fan of stripes and red!)
Have a wonderful Christmas with your family.

  5. too much rain here! my grands were here today – and we got to see a rainbow from the patio. I also made a rainbow on the fridge which they loved! love love that dress that you wore! so pretty! thanks for sharing

  6. Lisa, you can rock any style! Love all your looks.

We’ve been knee deep in rain, too, which has me traipsing around in a knee length black cardigan that feels like I’m wearing a cozy blanket and my 10-year-old Ugg boots. Not my finest fashion moments, but I sure am comfy!

  7. In May i had a baby at 26 weeks. Chloe spent 4 months and 1 week in the nicu. I have 5 other childeren so this was very hard. She had many struggles while in there trying very hard to grow big enough to come home. We had so many people praying for her. One day a friend made a comment on my facebook page that said Chloe was “growing on the wings of prayer” your my heart is full” necklace is a must have in my life. It reminds me of the countless hours of service and prayer that were offered on behalf of Chloe. Right now we are in the PICU, chloe has the flu and pneumonia, prayers again are being said. Perfect time for me to see your fabulous new necklace! It means so much to me.

  8. wooly socks, uggs, corduroys and layers.
love your style. i wish i had somewhere to go looking that cute! christmas shopping means covering up with a cozy coat and scarf in this part of the north…and i’ve been doing lots of that. have yourself a merry little christmas!

  9. We’ve had the rain here too (I’m in the high desert in SoCal, not *terribly* far from you, a couple hours). I have been thankful to stay INSIDE. I love the rain, especially when I can choose whether or not to be in it!

I love all of your outfits (I always always look forward to your WIWW) the anthro dress is wonderful and you accessorized it perfectly! I wish my curly hair looked like yours, I might not keep it chopped off all the time!

  10. I almost bought that navy and red shirt at Gap yesterday. Looks cute on you. It’s hard to think about staying cozy when the weather in Texas was a record high of 85. So crazy! Today it’s a little more like the normal temp, thank goodness.

  11. WIWW is the highlight of my week! Thanks for the great inspiration!!!!

I’m snuggling under my down blanket with a nice view of all the neighborhood kids sledding down the highest hill in all of Denmark.

  12. You look great! The ruffled dress worked out really well.

I’m staying warm with layers and layers of shirts and sweaters, plus hot drinks.

  13. I love anthro dress!
Malaga (sun’s coast) also raining for several days.
In our house we fought the cold with fireplace, hot coffee and love (nothing better for heat)
    I wish you Merry Christmas!

  14. Hi Lisa, I’m a new reader. I’ve heard of you and see your gorgeous jewelry for years, but somehow had never heard about your blog. You have a lovely, sweet family and I’ve loved reading back through your archives.

You’ve got such great style Lisa…reading your WIW posts has convinced me to get out of the jeans and t-shirt rut!

    Merry Christmas!

  15. Love your work by the way. I just need to save up so that I can purchase a little something for me.

I am in LOVE with that dress! beautiful
