what i wore wednesday

first what i wore wednesday of 2011 and i’m linking up with lindsey {click here to see her cute blog!} this was such a cozy outfit for a cold day! wool, navy dress, and gray scarf, anthro. jean jacket, gap. black boots, thrifted {ruby rose}

and this outfit was so fun and easy. lacey sweater, scarf, boots, anthro. jeans, banana republic. black jersey tunic, target.

ok, here’s our question for this week’s wiww…it’s date night and your turn to chose where to go. will it be dinner at your favorite local mexican restaurant in jeans, boots and a cute sweater OR dinner at the upscale organic cafe in a vintage dress and heels??

  1. I can’t remember if I’ve already commented or not. It’s been a very long day. I know I checked out your WIWW earlier this morning. Anyhow, I love your anthro scarf. It’s so versatile and pretty!

  2. Date night? That’s a good one. No, if we did go out, I’d pick the organic restaurant and the dress, because I get so few chances to wear a dress.

  3. Whenever I see you in those cute black boots it makes me SO sad I got rid of mine several years ago (I may have gone through a cowgirl phase for a little while in high school. 😉

I’d typically go for mexican and little more casual, but we’re trying to eat healthier these days and the upscale organic cafe might be easier!! Have fun!

  4. Oh, I vote for fancy! A date night should be fancy once in a while!!! It makes me feel so special and loved to go somewhere nice (as long as the meal turns out good…)

  5. well, we just had our third baby boy a few weeks ago (three that are three years and under!) so if TONIGHT is date night– i’d say leftovers are on the menu, and i’m {still} wearing maternity means and a shirt that doesn’t quite fit right, complete with spit-up. 🙂 (and wouldn’t trade it for the world!!!)

  6. Definitely the Mexican in cute jeans, boots, and sweater!!(My date…of 20 + years… loves jeans) !
Both outfits you’ve shown today are adorable! ;o)

  7. How do you always look so effortless? Jealous.

Definitely Mexican restaurant in jeans. I don’t wear a dress unless I have to.

    P.S. I love this font!

  8. Hmmmm, great question, both are so appealing! I feel grown up in the vintage dress and heels, but the jeans and boots are oh so me! I am going Mexican this time!

Love seeing the photos outside…even though it is a cold day to you, it is a super warm looking one to me!

  9. hey lisa. great style as usual! wondering if you could give us a quick tutorial on this scarf tying…looks like something new! Thanks so much!

  10. Definitely the upscale organic cafe with the vintage dress. It’s a date night…you gotta have some glam in there! Like usual…very cute outfits. 🙂

  11. you look great and I say dinner at Mexican in jeans…because your jean outfits are more upscale than my upscale outfits are! So you will rock it regardless!

  12. Mexican food casual. No pressure and can just run and leave the kids without much planning. Those dates are usually the best!

I saw that ruffly sweater at Anthro and immediately thought of you! I also tried the hand tucking hair pose, channeling my inner Lisa Leonard….only because I had a red + white bandaid on my finger and my husband said, “hey can you hide that?”. haha.

Love this week’s outfits! That wool dress is to die for with the skirt details.

  13. i’d go upscale only due to the fact that normally my 7 days of *real * life is very low scale so a change would be romantic…hmm

  14. I second Paige .. I can’t turn down Mexican food, but who could turn down a vintage dress either?! 🙂

  15. I say go with the jeans for a lunch with a friend and the dress for the dinner date.

LOVE your style!! Keep them coming.

  16. Answer: Jeans for sure! I adore your style and as soon as I get back on Weight Watchers…I’m going to copy you. Copying is still the highest form of flattery, right?!

  17. Love, love, love your style and these What I Wore Wednesday posts. I’ve stolen several of your looks when I can recreate them.

Oh, and to answer your question — Mexican!

  18. I’d dress up a bit and go somewhere fancier also because I never get to and my hubby doesn’t like to dress up:(

  19. I am always awed by your scarves. They just look so perfect with anything you pair them with.

I would definitely be going to that organic place sporting a cute dress and low heels…but mmmmm Mexican is tempting.

  20. Cute outfits! Love the scarf too 🙂
I would pick the upscale organic cafe with the vintage dress, just because not everyone gets to dress up all the time and eat out at the upscale joints a lot. Well, I don’t… Have fun on date night 🙂

  21. Those black boots were thrifted? They look in perfect condition!

I would go for the Mexican restaurant in jeans and boots.
