hello wire wrapping!

April 27th | blog friends, DIY

Hello friends! It’s Monday and I’m back from Snap! Conference. It was such a creative, kind and wonderful group of women! I taught a wire-wrap workshop and sat on a panel about ‘Growing Your Instagram Community’.

Today I’m sharing pics from the wire-wrapping workshop. These ladies were awesome! The night before I got nervous–was the project too hard, too easy? They all watched the demo, jumped in and created beautiful earrings. And there was a little time to talk and connect too–so good for the soul.
It’s Monday, how about some hellos?

***Hello Monday is where I greet the new week with an open heart and a fresh perspective. It’s a new beginning–and there’s so much to be thankful for! Join me by leaving your own hellos in the comments section or linking up a hello monday post there!***

Hello friends! I think lately I’ve been pouring all my creativity into basic day to day stuff. It’s just been so crazy busy–the kind of busy where I forget to eat. Crazy, right? That means I’m making the same dinners over and over and wearing the easiest outfits. And that’s okay!

I wear this black dress a lot–it’s one of the easiest, most comfortable things I own. And the boots are jacket are every day favorites.

The Fringe Hours {love!}

February 26th | blog friends

I’m sure you’ve heard all the buzz about the new book, The Fringe Hours around the web. But just in case, I had to share.

I’m about halfway through, and you guys it’s so good. So so good.

Somehow I got lucky enough to be friends with Jessica in real life. She is one of the kindest, smartest, most honest and most productive women I know.

I’ve sat in groups where we ask each other, “How does Jessica get so much done and not go crazy?!”

When Jessica Turner writes a book about self care and productivity, it’s time to stop and listen.

The Fringe Hours is a beautiful book filled with insights, stories, wisdom and interactive pages.

How adorable is Jessica with her three kiddos. And yes, they really are that adorable in real life!

This book is so good. Invest in yourself. Invest in this book. {It’s only $8.99!} You won’t be sorry!

beauty in brokenness {free printable!}

January 23rd | blog friends, finding beauty

It’s Friday friends! Whose ready for the weekend?

Today I am featured over at Barn Owl Primitives’ blog. Such an honor! I adore Kristi–and although we’ve never met in person, we regularly connect online, through texts and with phone calls. I can tell you she is a woman with heart who has built a thriving business that creates beautiful things. She and her husband work together {like Steve and I} so we have a lot in common.

If you’ve been hanging around here much, you’ve probably heard me talk about finding beauty in brokenness. I used to think I could create a perfect life, now I realized there is no perfect. But there is still so much beauty! In the crazy, everyday mess, I see bits of beauty and love–and it fills my heart!

Barn Owl Primitives created this gorgeous sign for me and guess what, today they are making it available as a FREE printable just for you! How amazing is that?! Click here to find it on the Barn Owl Blog.

Happy Friday Friends!

***nativity giveaway*** {closed}

November 6th | blog friends

Ok friends! I’ve got a BIG giveaway today! Someone is going to win a nativity set! {scroll down for details!}

The response to the nativity has been so overwhelming. You guys are amazing! It went out of stock last week and we’ve been working hard to bring it back.I know that was frustrating for some of you and I apologize.

This project started because I wanted to create a keepsake for each of my nieces and nephews. As it came together, I knew I had to share it with you too! Each nativity comes with a story booklet. The pic above is my son, Matthias, reading the booklet to my nephew, Brandon. My heart completely melted!

Growing up, the nativity was a big part of our Christmas every year. I want this nativity to become a keepsake that your kids can share with their kids. Each piece is hand-molded, cast in fine pewter and hand-polished. There are 14 hand-crafted pieces along with a stable made from california wine barrels. Simply beautiful and full of meaning.

It’s the perfect way to bring the true heart of Christmas in to your holiday season.

God made light

October 24th | blog friends, celebrate the every day

Have you heard of God Made Light? It’s been all over the internet lately. It’s a new children’s book, and you guys, it is beautifully written and full of truth.

It talks about how God made light and God made YOU. It’s poetic and moving–I started crying, especially when it talks about how when God made YOU, God made light. This is near to my heart because of David’s special needs. He was made to shine and he does. That’s beautiful. Matthias really liked the part about how His light shines in us, even in the dark, even at bedtime when we might be afraid. Lately he’s been a little scared at bedtime and this was a sweet reminder.

As you can see, David didn’t want to put it down. So sweet!

Matthew Paul Turner and his wife Jessica are friends of mine. I’ve been hearing about this book for a while and I am so thrilled to see it out in the world and to read these precious words to my boys {and myself!}. So meaningful.

God Made Light is available here. And there is an adorable floor puzzle and night light here.

the impossible

July 10th | blog friends, finding beauty

the impossible-01

There are many days where we do just fine. We have a rhythm that works.  Eggs are scrambled and coffee is poured. We cuddle on the couch and I pat David’s back or give Matthias soft scratches. There are baths with bubbles and clean clothes folded in drawers. The house is tidy {enough} and we have time to run and play in the park.

But woven in between the mundane, beautiful moments of the everyday are moments of anger and frustration. They sneak up on me when I least expect it.

Last week I found myself taking a look around the house and feeling a satisfied contentment with the imperfect. I’d had a productive morning of washing sheets, remaking beds and packing up too-small clothing to give to a thrift store. As I sat on the couch feeling like I had a hold on life, David pushed a toy off the table and it landed hard on my toe.

I’m blogging over at {in}courage today. Hop over to read the rest…
