seriously, when david wants to be held and snuggle in close–i try to drop everything and just soak it up. and when he wraps his arm around my neck? pure sweetness. i love being a mom.

what i wore, um thursday

all day yesterday, i thought it was tuesday. and in case you’re losing track of your days as well–it was actually wednesday. which means today is thursday and somehow in there i lost a full 24 hours! this might be a small indication how crazy it’s been. good crazy, but definitely crazy. so this week, it’s what i wore thursday!
this outfit is comfortable and fun–love it. the dress and boots are both from anthro. the leopard print belt is from tjmaxx and the sweater is from target {like 5 years ago!}
and of course, one of my fave necklaces, the family tree.
and again with the shoes. such happy shoes–from poetic license {purchased at a darling local boutique, ambiance}. jeans, anthro. black dress, old navy {$7!!} bracelet, open circle {my shop} and that sweet necklace–allora handmade!

sunday was blog sugar! about 200 women {and a few men, too} gathered in southern california to get inspired.
even standing in line i got to talk to amazing women, like denise from victory road and kristen from idaho mom and erin from eating my way back.
sarah markley shared insights–her spoken words are just as lovely as her written words. i loved hearing her speak!
there was plenty of sugar–not good for south beach diet, but since it was a special occasion, i splurged a little!
and so much pink and orange. the place was decked out in loveliness! i also got to hear lindsey, maggie and meg speak. they all did a fabulous job.
and i got to hug and talk and dream with so many sweet girls. a highlight was getting some extra time to chat with miss ashley. it was a very inspiring evening!!
attending conferences is so fun and so time consuming. i’ve been traveling waaaay to much lately and i am happy to be home and relax some! have you attended any blog conferences? do you plan to attend any this year?
moonlight and late night chats

one evening at hilton head, we stayed out on the beach until very late. just talking and eating dessert and enjoying the warm night and moonlight.
my first instinct was to get up and go inside, but i told myself, no just relax. enjoy these moments. there is nothing to rush off to do. i need to sit here in this moment and just be. and i’m so glad i did.
i had the loveliest chat with emily {have you seen her new book? you can read the first chapter here} it was the kind of conversation that goes deep to the hard places that i sometimes don’t want to think about, let alone say out loud.
and while we were chatting i set my camera on the sand and turned the autofocus off. i let the shutter take forever to capture the image–of the soft moonlight, the waves rolling in and sarah and the gypsy mama running and spinning circles on the sand.
such an amazing, magical night. i feel like i can still hold those moments in my hand.
have you taken time lately to just sit and be and not rush off? have you taken time to linger and really be present in the moment?

this pretty little necklace has really stolen my heart. it’s so different than anything else we’ve done. i love the simple detail and the way the edges are artistically wire wrapped to sterling chain.
i loved seeing it around the gypsy mama’s neck in hilton head. and i think her sweet baby liked it too!
and when i saw it on my beautiful friend, sarah, i loved it even more!
it’s a piece of nature to wear around your neck–so lovely! and today and tomorrow, the tiny twig necklace is on sale here. so hurry!

i’m linking up with jeannett over at life rearranged to share phone pics from the last week. join us!
i just got home from hilton head {which was a.maz.ing} and i was preparing to go to the creative connection when my plans changed. i’ve had a persistent cough since we got back from england so i made a doctor appointment to get it checkout. turns out i have bronchitis/borderline pneumonia. whaaat? so everything came to a halt last minute and i had to stay home from the creative connection. i am so sad to miss it, but the rest has been good for me.
here’s was happened this week in instagram…
1. flying to south carolina with my sweet friend sarah. we were roomies in college and we shared a room at the beach house. it was so good to be together again!
2. on my wrist–our devoted bracelet. this piece has been so popular we can’t keep it in stock.
3. sarah and i at breakfast in hilton head. we ate at signes–her delicious french toast was featured on rachel ray’s show. yum!
4. palm trees. west coast or east coast–i love them!
5. i like to use a lot of cream in my coffee. when i have to open up each creamer individually it gets a little ridiculous!
6. the writers from {in}courage gathered at the beach house on hilton head island. such a sweet time!
7. grilled cheese and tomato bisque at soho in savannah. seriously delicious! you must eat there if you spend time in savannah!
8. a pretty doily on a rustic wood table. i love to mix textures.
this weekend we are going to take it easy and i’m going to try to get all the way well! but, maybe we’ll sneak out for one little adventure near the beach. what are you weekend plans?
