willow and sage magazine feature!

January 30th | DIY, features

I have fallen in love with a new magazine! I’m sure you’ve heard of Stampington–they create magazines such as Where Women Create, Artful Blogging and Somerset Life. Such beautiful publications! They have a new magazine called Willow and Sage–and they featured my sister weekend in there. I am so excited! Take a look.

These magazines are worth keeping for years. The photos are high quality with a matte finish. So inspiring!

In August I snuck away for a magical few days with my sisters. We stayed in an airstream trailer and had so much fun talking, laughing and eating amazing food. I want to go back. So bad.

I surprised the sisters with some handmade foot scrub and we soaked our feet. It was so fun and relaxing.

The foot scrub is incredibly simple. It’s just brown sugar grape seed oil and if you want, a splash of almond or mint flavoring for a nice scent. I use it all the time in the shower. It makes my skin so soft and moisturized. Love it.

For a gift, just put into a mason jar and make a little tag. Seriously simple, pretty and practical.

Click here to follow Stampington on Facebook. And here to follow them on Instagram.

And if you want lots of inspiration for homemade bath products, hop over here and get a copy of Willow and Sage. You won’t be sorry!

styled shoot featured on green wedding shoes!

November 8th | features, found here & there, inspiration, photography

A little while back I joined forces with the amazing Cameron Ingalls to style a vow renewal shoot and it was recently featured on Green Wedding Shoes!

The gold xo cake topper and the gold mr. and mrs. banner looked adorable on top of a fantastic cake made my Two Cooks Catering! And how yummy do those appetizers look?! I may have snuck a bite or two.

The tables were decorated with hand painted rocks, vintage plates and cups, napkins from World Market with super cute wooden utensils wrapped in our diy pom poms. So inviting don’t you think?

We couldn’t forget about the kids! The couple renewing their vows, Brit and James, have the sweetest kids you will ever meet! They loved their little fox plates and coloring page placemats.

I am so thankful for all the amazing people who came together to make this happen!! It was such a fun collaborative effort and I could not be more pleased with the results! Check out the feature on GWS here!

weekend love {hooray!}

September 20th | features, what I'm wearing

Have you heard of Evy’s Tree? Oh my, she makes the most gorgeous sweatshirts. And they’re so soft and cozy. Like, crazy soft and cozy.

This weekend I need some cozy. I need some down time. I need to get the house in order and my brain cleared out.

Seriously, how cute is the Lizzy? The coral color is lovely and the zipper is asymmetrical. I put it on with my favorite jeans and a pair of booties and I’m happy.

The ‘my journey‘ necklace is a favorite right now. Easy with jeans and easy for every day. And filled with lots of meaning.

Go check out Evy’s Tree. And when you shop, use code Lisa15 for 15% off! You’re going to love how she combines style and comfort. You can also ‘like’ them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram.

Outfit details: Lizzy sweatshirt, Evy’s Tree. Tee, Old Navy. Jeans, AG jeans. Booties, Target. Belt, Vintage. Necklace, My Shop.

Here’s a list of things I’m NOT doing this weekend…

1. Homework. I don’t even want to unzip the boys’ backpacks.

2. Stressing. I want to turn up some music and get the house in order. I’m tired of avoiding piles.

3. Rushing. I’ll be late, I don’t mind. I need to slow down and stop rushing.

4. Getting up early. Yeah, we definitely need to sleep in.

5. Drinking coffee. Just kidding–I’ll be drinking lots of that. While I lay around in the morning.

Tell me something you’re definitely NOT doing this weekend.

hummingbirds {beauty in brokenness}

July 16th | celebrate the every day, features, finding beauty

I was searching for inspiration a couple days ago and I thought instead of looking elsewhere, I would look in our own backyard. We’ve had lots of hummingbirds visiting these days and they are so sweet. I put my long lens on my camera and went out to sit in the sunshine and wait for them. Soon one came by and I snapped away. Then another came along.

As I sat in the sunshine I felt thankful–and aware that I almost missed this moment. In the busyness of the day I don’t want to forget to notice the beauty. I believe there are bits of it everywhere. Even in the brokenness, there is beauty to be found. Will you look for bits of beauty with me?
