all-day photo shoot

October 25th | jewelry, photography, san luis obispo

yesterday, part of our team spent the day at flying caballos–a beautiful property near our workshop. we took lots and lots of pictures.

we’re about to launch a new, improved website. it’s going to be so beautiful!

the place is so beautiful, it feels like you’re miles from anywhere.

we refueled by chowing down on chipotle. i love their barbacoa tacos. and that handsome guy there {my husband} did you know he’s the business brain behind lisa leonard designs? yeah, he’s amazing.

actually our whole team–managers, production team, customer service are incredible. and fun.

i can’t wait to tell you more! soon, i promise!!

are you signed up for our newsletter? we are about to introduce some of our holiday line! sign up here.

vintage, etc. {san luis obispo}

October 19th | decorating, san luis obispo

want to see some pretty things? like shells, pretty paintings and vintage goodies?

i spent some time at vintage etc the other day. everything was so beautiful! i came away inspired.

white vintage mirrors, old birdcages, sparkly chandeliers, yellow bowls make my heart happy.

starfish and an old aqua fan…simple perfection.

visit vintage, etc at their darling blog or hop over and ‘like’ them on facebook!

so friend, what’s inspiring you today?

mountain of gold

July 14th | adventures, san luis obispo

when my sister was in town a couple weeks ago, we took the kiddos to montana de oro. matthias didn’t want to go {he doesn’t like sand} but i forced him and he had a great time. all of us had a great time–and we found some treasures, too {but no gold}
as much as matthias doesn’t like sand, david loves it. me? i don’t mind it except for the mess. and i love the beach, so i am willing to put up with it. do you ever have to convince your kids to do fun things?!

tidepools {cambria}

July 11th | adventures, family, san luis obispo

while on our camping trip we spent an afternoon at the tidepools in cambria. we went at low tide so we could see as many creatures as possible. it was so magical watching the kids climb and explore and see nature!

mr. crabby crab did not want to be disturbed. doesn’t he look grumpy?

have you explored nature lately?

avila beach

June 30th | an everyday moment, family, san luis obispo

one great thing about living in san luis obispo, is that it’s a vacation spot for many of our friends. so we end up getting to hang out with some pretty awesome people we don’t get to see nearly as much as we’d like. take the millers for example!
they were staying in avila beach {about 15 minutes south} so we went down to their hotel for the evening.

the kids had a blast playing in the rec room, swimming and eating BBQ and i loved getting to hang out with my friends. the whole evening was refreshing.

it was like a mini-vacation. we love you, millers! please come back soon.

i love to spend the afternoon at the beach or plan an overnighter to nearby cambria or carpinteria.

what is your favorite {close-by} getaway spot?

sneak preview: inspiration shoot

trailer tour

May 12th | adventures, san luis obispo

at the ruby rose show a couple weeks ago, stephanie brought a couple of her family’s airstream trailers. they buy them and give them new life and make them beautiful!

as much as i want a trailer, i know i’m not really a camping kind of girl. i made reservations at a campground last summer to MAKE myself camp with the kids, and we still didn’t go.

but maybe with a trailer it would be easier? in a trailer like this one we could cuddle and read and eat homemade cookies.

the kids could play by the ocean all day and sleep soundly at night.

and then sun would stream in to wake us and i’d walk to a nearby cafe for pancakes.

making memories in a trailer like this would be so charming!

and we wouldn’t need a clock. we’d just play all day!

does your family camp in tents or a trailer?

let’s hang out!

April 28th | blog friends, decorating, san luis obispo

i’ve got friends coming to stay this weekend–so excited!

we are planning to swing by the always inspiring stitch market, then on saturday we’ll be over at remnants of the past in nipomo and sunday i’m bringing jewelry and goodies to my absolutely favorite shop ruby rose here in san luis obispo. so exciting! please come hang out–especially at ruby rose. i’ll be there from 12-2pm {and there will be cupcakes i hear!}

right now i’m on the hunt for a bench and some vintage wall art for the boys bathroom. also, i’d love to find a couple more medium sized globes for our living room. are you on the hunt for any special items?
