maxi pants {aka gauchos}

May 20th | what I'm wearing

I stumbled across what I thought was a maxi skirt at Anthropologie the other day and when I tried it on, I realized it was actually pants. They are so comfortable and flowy–I fell in love with them! And they are on clearance, so that’s awesome too! I’m pretty sure these will be worn with a tee and flip flops all summer.

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

The color is kind of a brick red, not a rosy red like it’s pictured on the anthro site.

The wide elastic waist makes them flattering and comfortable.

They run a big, so if you’re between sizes, go down a size. I’m wearing medium.

Of course I topped it off with a basic black hand and denim jacket. Easy.

And this necklace is always a win.

Outfit details: Pants, Anthropologie. Black tank, Old Navy. Denim jacket, Gap. Sandals, Target. Bag, Stitch Fix. Next step necklace, My shop.

Happy Wednesday friends. xx

dressed up/down to business

May 12th | jewelry, what I'm wearing

Things have just been completely nuts lately! We had our biggest mother’s day season ever! Super exciting but it brings some late orders, a huge influx of customer emails and some unhappy people. We’re working overtime to try to email everyone back, return calls and make it all right. If you’re one of the people whose order was late, I’m so sorry! Behind every order is a person who matters and who is deeply loved. My desire is that every order is hand-crafted with care and arrives on time. And if we haven’t succeeded then I want to make it right. And Steve, myself and the team are working overtime to make that happen.

So in the meantime, I’m throwing on a fun dress, comfy shoes and working as hard as I can. This dress was my mother’s day gift and I absolutely adore it. It’s super comfy and flowy and kind of dressy. Perfect.

Outfit details: Dress, Anthropologie. Sandals, Target. Denim jacket, Gap. Bag, Stitch Fix. Necklace, rings, My shop.

Alright friends, back to work. Have a fabulous day and know that you’re loved.

come on, summer!

April 29th | what I'm wearing

It’s been crazy warm here–and it makes me want SUMMER! In my mind summer means slow mornings, sunshine, strawberries and swimming. In reality it’s usually me rushing between the workshop and the boys–but it’s still awesome.

Today’s outfit feels summer with a sleeveless kimono. I think this is the first time I’ve bared my arms this year–I need some sunshine on these shoulders!

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

This kimono is light as air and adds some fun to the outfit. It’s a Target find–scroll down for details.

I’ve got some pretty new pieces from the shop, including this sweet necklace.

I have four diamonds set in my ‘walk the line’ necklace–one for each of us!

Jeans and tees is where it’s at–easy and comfortable.

And stacking up lots of rings–that feels so summer-y to me!

Outfit details–Jeans, Big Star via Zappos. Tank, Old Navy. Booties, Target. Kimono, Target. Walk the Line Necklace, My shop. Rings, My shop. Bag, H&M

What does summer make you think of?

spring with a side of sunshine

April 22nd | what I'm wearing

A couple weeks ago I scored at the local Goodwill with this sheer dress and leather jacket. I love the thrill of a find! Spring is in the air and we are soaking up the sunshine. This dress is perfect with a full slip layered underneath–then a jacket for the cooler mornings and evenings.

I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

And I adore this necklace–so simple, so pretty.

Outfit details: Sheer dress, thrifted. Full slip, thrifted. Sandals, Old Navy. Leather jacket, thrifted. Next step necklace, My shop.

I hope spring is showing itself where you are! I’m sending you some sunshine today, friend.

kimono love

April 15th | what I'm wearing

This kimono was part of the inspiration shoot we shared yesterday. Is it a kimono or a cardigan or a drapey silk wrap. Whatever it is, I love and it I’ve been wearing it pretty much every day.

It’s jeans and a tank–nothing special, but the kimono takes it up a notch. And lately all I’ve got the energy for is jeans and a tee–so the kimono is a win!

Plus sandals, jewelry and a little lipstick pull it all together.

You wouldn’t even know I hadn’t washed my hair in days. ;)

The stacked up rings are from my shop. Love love love.

And these earrings are my every day favorites.

Outfit details: Jeans, Target. Tank, Old Navy. Kimono, Ruby Rose. Sandals, Old Navy. Bag, H&M. Rings, My Shop. Earrings, My shop. Belt, thrifted.

This outfit is as basic as it gets without wearing sweats.
I’m a poet and I don’t even know it!

But the necklace is anything but basic! I love it.

Pretty stones are hand-wrapped on each side of the cross. And I’m loving the long 30″ length these days!

a break from buying new things

March 17th | what I'm wearing

Hey I’m sharing my ‘what I wore’ post a day early. I’ve got something fun coming tomorrow–so make sure to check back!

For Lent this year, I decided to take a break from buying new clothing. I’ve still thrifted a couple pieces–but I’m trying to shop less and refocus some of that attention on things that matter. And there are so many things that matter so much more!

It’s been a great way to shift my perspective and it’s also been wonderful to wear pieces from my closet that I already own and love. When I walk through Target, I keep telling myself, “I’m not buying anything, I’m not buying anything, I’m not buying anything.” So far it’s working. Even the cute scarves haven’t tempted me.

For my post this week, I’m sharing outfits that I’m re-wearing and loving. Here are some of my favorite, easy pieces.

This cream dress was thrifted for a few dollars. It’s pretty much as basic as can be–and super comfortable. Love it.

This black dress from Plenty Boutique is flowy and fun. Sometimes I layer a faux fur vest over or a slouchy sweater.

This dress from Anthropologie was an after-christmas splurge with a gift card from my Mother-in-law. The cut is easy to wear and it’s something different.

I see we’re on a ‘dresses’ trend here. I’m either wearing dresses or my favorite jeans. This dress was on major clearance from Zara after Christmas. The ombre effect is different and adds character. And of course a jean jacket makes it perfect for the workshop.

This black dress from Plenty Boutique has been making the rounds a lot. I always feel pretty in it. I have a thing for black dresses.

This anthropologie dress was a Christmas gift. The pattern is different than what I would usually wear but the cut of the dress is awesome and easy.

Did you give up anything for Lent? Has it been easy or hard for you?

March 11th | blog friends, what I'm wearing

Hello friends! I think lately I’ve been pouring all my creativity into basic day to day stuff. It’s just been so crazy busy–the kind of busy where I forget to eat. Crazy, right? That means I’m making the same dinners over and over and wearing the easiest outfits. And that’s okay!

Today I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

I wear this black dress a lot–it’s one of the easiest, most comfortable things I own. And the boots are jacket are every day favorites.
