believe necklace

March 25th | what I'm wearing

I’ve got something new to share with you today! Since Easter is right around the corner, I’ve been reflecting on this season of hope. The N E W believe necklace is what came from my inspiration. I hope you love it as much as I do!

This outfit is as basic as it gets without wearing sweats.
I’m a poet and I don’t even know it!

But the necklace is anything but basic! I love it.

And let’s not forget the matching bracelet.

Pretty stones are hand-wrapped on each side of the cross. And I’m loving the long 30″ length these days!

I’ve got all the boys Easter basket stuff bought and ready. Friends, that never happens. I don’t even know myself anymore! Do you do Easter baskets for your kids?

Outfit details: Favorite jeans, Big star via Zappos. Tee, Anthropologie. Sweater, Gap. Sandals, Target. Sterling believe necklace/bracelet, My shop.

a break from buying new things

March 17th | what I'm wearing

Hey I’m sharing my ‘what I wore’ post a day early. I’ve got something fun coming tomorrow–so make sure to check back!

For Lent this year, I decided to take a break from buying new clothing. I’ve still thrifted a couple pieces–but I’m trying to shop less and refocus some of that attention on things that matter. And there are so many things that matter so much more!

It’s been a great way to shift my perspective and it’s also been wonderful to wear pieces from my closet that I already own and love. When I walk through Target, I keep telling myself, “I’m not buying anything, I’m not buying anything, I’m not buying anything.” So far it’s working. Even the cute scarves haven’t tempted me.

For my post this week, I’m sharing outfits that I’m re-wearing and loving. Here are some of my favorite, easy pieces.

This cream dress was thrifted for a few dollars. It’s pretty much as basic as can be–and super comfortable. Love it.

This black dress from Plenty Boutique is flowy and fun. Sometimes I layer a faux fur vest over or a slouchy sweater.

This dress from Anthropologie was an after-christmas splurge with a gift card from my Mother-in-law. The cut is easy to wear and it’s something different.

I see we’re on a ‘dresses’ trend here. I’m either wearing dresses or my favorite jeans. This dress was on major clearance from Zara after Christmas. The ombre effect is different and adds character. And of course a jean jacket makes it perfect for the workshop.

This black dress from Plenty Boutique has been making the rounds a lot. I always feel pretty in it. I have a thing for black dresses.

This anthropologie dress was a Christmas gift. The pattern is different than what I would usually wear but the cut of the dress is awesome and easy.

Did you give up anything for Lent? Has it been easy or hard for you?

easy boho {and a giveaway}

March 11th | blog friends, what I'm wearing

Hello friends! I think lately I’ve been pouring all my creativity into basic day to day stuff. It’s just been so crazy busy–the kind of busy where I forget to eat. Crazy, right? That means I’m making the same dinners over and over and wearing the easiest outfits. And that’s okay!

Today I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

I wear this black dress a lot–it’s one of the easiest, most comfortable things I own. And the boots are jacket are every day favorites.

And the bag, right? I’m partnering with Nena & Co for a giveaway on instagram today. Scroll down for details!

I find if I get good pieces while I’m shopping, outfits come together easily. I don’t have time in the mornings to plan outfits. I pretty much grab the easiest stuff.

It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration!

Last week we did a photo shoot downtown–I’ve got more pics to share tomorrow. It was so fun!

I was there to help with styling and making sure we got all the photos we needed. Mary does our graphic design and photography and Mikala was our model.

The ‘next step’ necklace is classic and simple–perfect for everyday. It’s hand-crafted in sterling silver. Isn’t it pretty?

simple with some spunk

February 25th | what I'm wearing

I like to keep it pretty simple and classic with a fun print or pop of color here and there. Basically, when I get ready every morning, I want to be comfortable but look put together. And I don’t mind wearing the same jeans or top multiple times a week. The accessories are what keep things fresh. I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

These are the jeans I wear all. the. time. They are just easy and comfortable and I feel good in them.

The top dresses things up a bit. I wasn’t sure about the bow at first–I didn’t want to look too sweet. But the solid black keeps things simple.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I see leopard print as a neutral. It’s fun but the colors kind of go with everything.

We’ve already talked about this bag. I get asked about it all the time. Love my Nena & Co bag.

This top doesn’t work with a necklace so I stacked up lots of bracelets for a fun look.

It’s the bag and shoes that carry the outfit, don’t you think?

Outfit details: Jeans, Big Star via Zappos. Black top, Target. Heels, Target {similar}. Bag, Nena & Co., Bracelets, My shop and thrifted.

thrifted cream dress, gypsy soul necklace

February 11th | what I'm wearing

Hey friends! I found this little gem of a dress at a thrift store last week for $5. It made my whole day! It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

I’ve been wanting a cream dress–just something simple and flowy. This one fits the bill!

I layered a long slip with the dress for a vintage feel.

The sweet bag is by Nena & Co. Love it!

On Monday, we shared the Gypsy Soul Necklace. Such a sweet piece. If you missed Monday’s special, you can find the necklace here. It’s very limited edition–so don’t wait!

Isn’t this necklace FUN? I love the adjustable leather–wear it super long or shorter.

Outfit details: Cream dress, vintage slip, both thrifted. Booties, Frye via Zappos. Jean Jacket, Gap. Bag, Nena&Co. Turquoise cuff, vintage. Gypsy Soul Necklace, My shop.

flowy and free

February 4th | what I'm wearing

This dress and sweater are super slouchy and comfortable. The length of the dress keeps it from being completely frumpy, I think. Hopefully? The bottom line is, I felt comfortable and happy–so the outfit was a win. It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

If you’ve seen the national weather lately, we are at the warm extreme here in California. It’s been mid 70s. It’s awesome but it doesn’t feel like winter at all. And I know many of you are knee deep in snow and busy shoveling your driveways. I don’t want to rub it in. File this outfit under ‘spring inspiration’.

This bag is nothing if not FUN! It’s from Nena & Co. I might be in love.

The sweater and turquoise cuff are vintage.

And of course, my favorite booties, that I wear almost every day.

I’ve been really into dresses lately. They’re easy and make me feel put together {even if I’m totally not put together}.

I’m sending some sunshine your way today. Can you feel it?

Outfit details: Dress, Local Boutique, Plenty. Sweater, Ruby Rose. Booties, Frye via Zappos. Bag, Nena & Co. Bracelets, Earrings, My shop.

layered necklaces {love!}

January 28th | jewelry, what I'm wearing

Oh this dress and the sunshine. I felt happy and free wearing this outfit. It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy.

The length of this dress is just right. It’s long enough to be covered but short enough to be fun. Steve got me this dress for Christmas. I love it.

And the sunshine we’ve had lately is magical. Cool evenings but glorious days. And we got rain last night–so hooray!

And these are my every day favorite booties.

I love a pretty dress that is easy to wear.

And I love layering necklace. The sterling itty bitty heart has Steve’s initial. It’s a 16″ chain. And the petite infinity is on 18″ sterling chain. Gorgeous.

Outfit details: Dress, Anthropologie. Booties, Frye via Zappos. Bag, H&M. Jean jacket, Gap. Itty Bitty Heart Necklace, My Shop. Petite Infinity Necklace, My shop. Bracelets, My shop.

I know some of your are freezing in the east! I hope you’re staying cozy inside with a blanket and cup of cocoa!

favorite jeans, favorite drink

January 21st | what I'm wearing

I’ve got a new favorite drink from Starbucks–and it’s fairly low carb {and seriously delicious!}. It’s a cinnamon dolce with whole milk and one pump of sugar free syrup. Oh and whip cream. It’s such a treat and so yummy!

It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

On a typical day, I pretty much wear these jeans, a black top, some kind of sweater or jacket and boots or heels. It’s a simple and trusty recipe for getting ready.

This sweatshirt moto jacket from Gap is cozy and structured.

And the bag is from Better Life Bags. Seriously a show stopper. Love it!

The flowy black top and heels are from Target.

And a yummy drink in my hand makes for a good start to the day.

The marked by love necklace celebrates how certain people leave an impression on our lives forever. That is a beautiful thing! Everything in the shop is 25% off with code ‘grateful’. It’s a good day to shop!

Outfit details: Jeans, Big Star via zappos. Black top, Target. Moto jacket, Gap. Heels, Target. Necklace, My shop. Bag, Better Life Bags {love!}

What’s your favorite drink at Starbucks {or your favorite local coffee shop}?

pretty dress, tired mama

January 14th | jewelry, what I'm wearing

Hello there! We had meetings all weekend and I jumped into this week tired. That’s a hard way to start the week, but sometimes that’s just the way it is. I woke up Tuesday morning and all I wanted to do was stay in bed–but that wasn’t an option. We were running late and I threw on a pretty dress and some red lipstick. Nothing like getting ready in 15 minutes. Bam! It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration!

This dress is too fun. It was on major clearance after Christmas. It’s actually a cocktail dress and kind of fancy, but a jean jacket tones it down for the workshop.

I love my jean jacket. It’s kind of like a security blanket.

This birthstone bauble necklace is sooo pretty. Scroll down for more details!

Hair pulled back, red lipstick. I’m tired inside but I’ve got lots to do. I’ll work hard today and go to bed early tonight!

I feel more put together with a simple heel. But I’ll kick them off as soon I get home.

Stacked up bracelets. I love my ‘word of the year’ bracelet. ‘Loved’ is my word. I need that reminder every day.

And the birthstone bauble necklace–isn’t it gorgeous?! Only $24 today!!

Outfit details: Dress, Zara. Jean jacket, Gap. Heels, Target. Earrings, My shop. Bracelets, My shop. Birthstone Bauble necklace, My shop.

Today I’m drinking coffee, taking deep breaths and trying not to be irritable. How do you push through on the tired and frazzled days?
