handmade project: paperweight

this little project couldn’t be any easier! a glittery, heart paperweight perfect for securing a sweet photo or a love note.

i found the 3″ glass hearts HERE and used decoupage glue and fine glitter from martha stewart’s line at michaels.  i had planned to decoupage words, but the paper got kind of bubbled up and i ended up liking the solid glitter heart better.

i covered the back of heart with decoupage glue and then sprinkled lots of glitter. once it was completely dry, i used a small amount of hot glue to secure a piece of felt to finish the piece.

so sweet, and so easy!

  1. I’m new to your blog and absolutely love this idea. I think it will make a great Valentine’s gift. And I’m so excited, after visiting your shop, I’ve found the perfect wedding gift for my little sis–The heart wall hanging! Thanks!

  2. Hi Lisa honey, I’m so sorry I haven’t commented for so long! We are on limited high speed internet access still (most frustrating) so I have to be careful how much I do in terms of checking blogs etc. It’s so sad!

I adore this glass paperweight, it is simply DIVINE! I hope I can source something similar here in New Zealand because it would make a perfect valentine’s gift! Love and hugs and better get off here.. sigh! Ooooh we are getting a golden retriever puppy next week (I hope my cat will cope!). Check out my blog http://www.artforheart.typepad.com, I posted a photograph yesterday. Smiles…
