i was so inspired by this post from tara whitney.

i want to capture more of our everyday moments.

less posed, less perfect.

heaven knows we aren’t perfect.

we’re grumpy and silly and stressed at times, but we are happy

and i’m so thankful.

thankful for cinnamon pull-aparts this morning.

thankful for lots of time this weekend

to sit with the boys and watch the chronicles of narnia.

thankful for our messy house.

and a grocery store right down the street.

i love our crazy little family.

just an update-david’s surgery is scheduled for octocber 26th.

he has a cold and he needs to get all the way better

in the next week. we are praying for that!

and i am doing fine minute to minute,

but i feel the anxiety of it bubbling under the surface.

can’t wait to be on the other side!!

for today, i want to treasure the moment i’m in.

  1. I’m thankful for a half day today which gave me time for a much needed hair cut and color and also means I can get my son off the school bus, which is an extra special treat!

  2. I am grateful for the happiness I have and for my life … also, grateful to have had such a wonderful animal companion as my cat, Homee who I had to put to sleep on Oct 1st. It was his time – he was 16 years old and he was with me since he was only 3 months. I miss him, but I just loved him too much and I just had to let him go.
I am praying for David – he will be great!! And am praying for you too, you will be fine and weather this with him. I’m having surgery too for a benign tumor on my pituitary gland … a little too close to my brain for comfort, but I trust this doctor.
In the end it all comes down to faith …

  10. Hi Lisa, I’m so thankful that I am the person I am, mainly because of the wonderful man my Dad was. He died 12 years ago today (it’s 13 October here in NZ) and I miss him more than I ever have. This year hasn’t been an easy one for various reasons and I long to have him sitting here, looking at me and just listening to my worries and heartaches and making me smile again, without judging me! I treasure EVER SINGLE precious memory and hold it close to my heart always! Love you Dad!

Thinking of you re David’s op.. I’m sure he will get over his cold honey.. have faith and don’t forget to sit quietly and breathe when you start to feel anxious. Love and hugs from New Zealand

  19. I’m thankful for falling in love with an amazing man – I got married in September and I’m tearing up going through our wedding photos. What an unbelievable, love-filled day!

  20. i’m thankful for a contract job for my husband, which he started today, that will give us 3 weeks of income after a drought of almost 2 months! i’m also thankful that God speaks to our hearts and gives us Himself–He Himself is our peace (eph. 2:14)–and that He is greater than our hearts and that He knows everything (i john 3:19-20). i’m thankful that, for all these reasons and many more, i do not have to succumb to worry (ps. 37:8) and can cast my anxiety on Him (phil. 4:7).

  21. to help David with his cold I recommend the herbal tincture OSHA…..it tastes yucky, but has incredible anti-viral properties….put a few drops in a bit of water a few times a day…my 6 year old takes it (ecen though it tastes yucky) as she knows it works….you could chase it with a bit of juice if he needs to….

    all the best!!!

  22. Am praying for David and your family as 10/26 approaches! Have marked my calendar for special prayer that day. So glad to see you hanging out with the (in)courage girls! I am thankful for a God bigger than anything we can imagine!

I am thankful for my hubby who stays with our 4 little ones 2 nights a week and all day on sat so I can go to school, I am thankful for everything we have even though it’s not much, i am thankful that god gave me the crazy, hectic, always fun, beautiful children and husband anyone could ask for!!!!

  25. I’m thankful for my awesome husband (& kids). My husband stayed home for a bit longer this morning so I could get my run in. I love, love, love that he understands & supports me when I go out. It means the world to me.

I ran my first 5k this past weekend, & my family met me at the 1 mile mark. I refueled with hugs & kisses from my kids, & they cheered me on as I crossed the finish line after the 3rd mile. 🙂
