hello monday {alcatraz edition}

***Hello Monday is where I greet the new week with an open heart and a fresh perspective. It’s a new beginning–and there’s so much to be thankful for! Join me by leaving your own hellos in the comments section or linking up a hello monday post there!***

It’s back to real life today. The kids are in school and I’m back in the workshop. We had an amazing holiday with family. Our English cousins came over for a couple weeks and we had so many adventures! Then we went down south for a couple days and did a late Christmas with my side of the family. It was quick but so good.

Today I’m sharing pics from Alcatraz. It’s a small island off the coast of San Francisco with an old prison. It’s fascinating and beautiful. Is it funny to get inspired by an old prison? I’m not sure–but there was definitely beauty to be found on Alcatraz!

How about some hellos for a new week?

Hello boat ride! Just one of the perks of visiting Alcatraz.

Hello daffodils in winter. Like food for the soul.

Hello hugs and memories made. Hello missing cousins.

Hello sunshine. We’ve been seriously spoiled around these parts.

Hello smiles. Hello melted heart.

Hello brave seagull. I could have  reached out an touched him–he was that close!

Hello spirally stairs.

Hello holding hands. So sweet! David soaked up his cousins.

Hello groceries to buy and laundry to wash. We are seriously low on clean underwear. It’s almost time to declare a state of laundry emergency.

Hello sleeping in our own beds and getting back to a routine.

Hello setting an alarm. Boo! I love waking up when I wake up, without an alarm.

Hello emails to send, contracts to sign and decisions to make. Exciting things happening!

Hello clean house. All the Christmas decor is packed up.

Hello 2014! It’s a brand new year.

Hello Monday! It’s our first full week of the new year–are you ready? Just a couple more sips of coffee and I’m off!
