  1. Well we have just over a week to go before school comes round again this side of the pond and my how it’s dragged! Now I know how my parents felt when I was at school! lol. This will be are son’s second year and I think I need to plan the holidays better next time. Heading off to the coast in a few hours for a well deserved break although we were not going to this year as we are just so busy with one thing or another but I think we all need to recharge the batteries!

  2. Although my children are grown and not home any more, I do look forward to this coming fall. Cooler temps. Beautiful colors. Pumpkins, gourds, corn mazes. Topping off the upcoming seasonal changes thankful God is in control and that we can always count on Him. And grateful for the summer blessings of sunshine, rain, productive gardening and a freezer full of fish. Thanks to my wonderful husband. Peace and Blessings to you and yours.

  3. A library patron asked me today if we had any programs going on that her visiting grandchildren might be interested in. I told her “Most of children’s programs (for school age anyway) are during the summer” She looked at me…paused a minute and said…”Isn’t it summer right now?” I had to explain “Well yes…but kids go back to school here on Wednesday”……
It always seemed too soon when my kids started back in early August…especially when the cousins in NY and VA still had a few weeks off.
Enjoy your last days of vacation! Routines will be back in place before you know it.

  4. My daughter still has 3 weeks of summer left until first grade…it’s not long enough, it never is. Trying to soak in every second we can!!

  5. I know it’s bitter sweet for sure this time of year with our kids. I can just start to feel Fall in the air when I’m up early. Saying hello to organizing, shopping and packing for the move back to school :/ Love your sweater btw!

  6. Love this post. Our oldest is starting school this year and I’m excited/torn/happy/sad. I can’t believe we’re already here!
My debut novel is also coming out and I just can’t believe it’s happening. I’m definitely ready for a little time to write and not feel pulled between two worlds all of the time (maybe I can get my youngest two to nap wile their sister is at school?)
Hello to a coffee and book giveaway (my first ever) on the blog. I might celebrate the book release with some jewelry from you, Lisa! 😉

  7. Ah – we’re not saying hello to the books just yet. We’ve got until Monday, but we educate our children at home, so it’s a smoother transition. Don’t ya have a love hate thing with the schedule? We need it, but sometimes it’s nice to have a break…until you realize again how much you need it! Ha!
