hello pink trash, hello monday

Hello friends! I am back from the Dominican Republic and soaking up time with my sweet boys.

These pics are from my sister trip  a couple weeks ago, when we stayed in Airstream trailer. We spotted Pink Trash and had to check it out. I found this dress at Pink Trash. If you happen to be on the 101 near Buellton, I recommend dropping in–there are so many fun treasures. The backyard is full of texture, light and vintage beauties. I’m jumping into a new week a little tired and a little inspired.

***Hello Monday is where I greet the new week with an open heart and a fresh perspective. It’s a new beginning–and there’s so much to be thankful for! Join me by leaving your own hellos in the comments section or linking up a hello monday post there!***

How about some hellos?

Hello jumping back into the routine. Last week in the Dominican Republic–and completely out of my normal routine. I enjoyed it but it’s crazy how quick I can get back into my normal routine. I love adventures and I love being home.

Hello worrying about David’s eyelids. They’ve been irritated on and off for the last few months. We’ve tried everything–warm compresses, antibiotics and talked to some doctors, nothing has helped. The next step is to meet with a surgeon at UCLA. We have an appointment on October 6.

Hello grocery shopping and trying to perfect my salmon recipe this week.

Hello much needed haircut for Matthias. He is not excited but he always loves the result!

Hello catching up on Outlander. We have the last couple weeks recorded–I can’t wait to watch.

Hello reading two books on the various planes last week. It was so fun to read read read.

Hello fall. I can smell it in the air. The cooler weather and shorter days are coming.

Hello gift card to Anthropologie burning a hole in my pocket. How cute are these heels. I might be in love.

Hello snuggles, being home, family movie night and catching my breath. Much needed.

Hello Monday! What are you saying hello to this week? Leave some hellos in the comments or leave a link to your own hello monday post there!

  1. Lisa,

Several years ago I had an infected eyelid, lets just say it looked like I had been in a bad fight, Eye docs could not clear it up, was operated on twice. I was quite desperate as it was quite noticeable. Went to an acupuncturist who cleared this up in no time and it never came back. I do not know if this would work for your David or if he could sit still for this type of treatment ( I had needles in my eyelid). But if it did work of him it would be less invasive and maybe bring some comfort to him.

    1. Connie, thank you for your insight! I’m grateful. I’ll look into this option. I’ve been hearing a lot about acupuncture lately. xx

  2. Anthropologie gift cards in your pocket are always a good thing 🙂 …and I think those shoes are just waiting for you to come get them. hahah

  3. Hello to regular routines again! Hello to Boy Scout meeting tonight, Wednesday night dinner and youth group at church on Wednesday, my favorite women’s bible study meeting at a new tea bar on Thursday, and HELLO to the first home high school football game Friday! What a great week!

  4. Sending positive energy to you and hoping David’s appointment goes well next month.
Hello to a busy week, the first full week of school. Hello, again, pile of grading – I have so not missed you!

  5. Oops, I forgot to mention this in my last comment. : )
Try washing David’s eyelids with plain old baby shampoo. It’s tear-free and it doesn’t sting. Try to do it 2-3 times a day. And, I would not put benadr*l cream on them. That could easily get into his eyes and cause even more problems. Praying for your boy!

  6. Hi Lisa,
I don’t know if there is a way to comment on your shop site, so decided to do it here. First of all, this morning I got an email about the necklace for precious Ryan. Thank You, for sharing about that Little Man. I don’t know him or his Mommy and Daddy, but I feel a deep love for them.

Then… I got a package in the mail. With 3 rings from your jewelry line. Two of those rings were engraved with the names of two little ones who recently went to Heaven. Nora Rose and Mattie. Their names are engraved in the rings and I will be shipping them to their Mommies tomorrow. Thank You, they are lovely. I just know that those Mama’s will treasure them.

I also ordered a ring with my sisters nick-name engraved in it. She is going through really tough things and I will wear it as a way to remember to pray for her. In the past, I purchased a heart made whole” necklace for my Mama, after she made it through a huge open heat surgery. And, I bought the “Mama necklace” for myself. I am not a Mama, but I have always called my Mother, “Mama”, so I wear it for the strength and integrity she has taught me through the years.

So, my Friend, this is just a little love note from a Sister in Minnesota, who wants You to know that your jewelry has touched my heart and soul. And, it will carry that on through the years to come. hmmm, just made me think of where all of these art pieces will be in 50 years? in 100 years??
    Love, Jo

  7. I know all about irritated eyelids…..Always hits me this time of year. I have to take my claritin plus use Benadryl cream on them due to allergies in the fall and spring. Fall is usually worse for some reason. Do not use anything else on them because everything else will keep them irritated. I for one can tell you its a miserable feeling, burning and irritated eyelids can be torture. Poor guy 🙁 I hope he feels better soon.

  8. Ok, I’m *trying* not to be jealous here. 😉 So glad you’ve gotten these sweet times away but YES to routine. I feel you on that. Praying for your David. And let us know how that salmon turns out! I never like it when I cook it so I need some ideas.
