deep thoughts about backyard soccer.

nothing fancy, just a rubber ball, a patch of grass and some slick 5-year-old moves.  but while i was editing these photos, it struck me (as it does from time to time) that this is matty’s childhood.  his childhood that he’ll look back on as an adult and reminisce.  little moments that make up bigger memories that blur together.  it feels so big!  i don’t want to underestimate the importance of the everyday.

This mismatched boots are adorable. And it is lovely to think of the good times our children are having in their childhood. It’s always hard to say which memories will stick out to them.

You’re so right. It’s too easy to get caught up in the “busy-ness” of life…. What do we want our children to remember from their childhoods? Moments like the ones you so often capture through your photography are the moments that really matter.

WOW, that is all I could think when reading your post. Because it is so true, I know I don’t stop long enough to enjoy my kids some days or let them enjoy. And what will they remember most, how clean the house was or playing tag in the back yard? Thanks for reminding me what childhood memories should be…….
