inspiration for a monday.

trying to look at the details and the simple things.
this little flower seemed so sweet and content…

summer is ending and i feel a little sad.
but i know pumpkins and sunflowers are coming which, sounds wonderful!

a row of colorful pitchers, some new, some old
lined up on our kitchen window sill…

i gave some our lamps a boost by putting them on top of
old, painted wooden boxes.
i’m trying to see our home in a new,
fresh way and make little changes to keep it fresh and fun.

so, what’s inspiring you today?

  1. Oh, wow, I was going to write what Tracy wrote – Lisa, your house/style are already pretty inspiring! Welcoming, comfy, pristine (how do you do it?), pretty, personalized, artistic, lovely. Your house is you all over.

Don’t even get me started on your serene backyard and the kids’ cool band instruments!

    Very inspiring indeed.

  2. …your style inspires me – the pitchers are beautiful – not just the colors, but the shapes…and the box adds such an intriguing element to the lamp…

  3. I love the colorful pitchers, and the lamp lift was a great idea. Not much is inspiring me lately to be honest! I need to catch up, then maybe inspiration will come…say, I think those pitchers inspired me after all!

  4. hey lisa! we actually shave the hair between his eyebrows. we started doing it when he was young–it was actually kind of a tough decision for us. when i bathe him, i just quickly groom his eyebrows and i like the results.

  5. I know this is a random question, and nothing to do with your post, but i had a question about david…I have noticed that other children with CdLS tend to have extra hair that grows between their eyebrows, etc. But david doesn’t seem to have this – at least not in the pics i’ve seen of him. Do you guys somehow “pluck” that out? He always looks so handsome and well-kept. (And i’m not saying that the extra hair is a bad thing, i’m more just curious.)

  6. My son decided he was tired of dorm life and is moving into a house. He is in his 3rd year of college. His room is in need of overhauling now. His moving out of it is the inspiration I need. As soon as Gustav is finished with us, I will get to work in there.

  7. I made some small changes in our house too. I lightened up the family room by moving those dark curtains to our bedroom, which could use the darkening effect. I like to move small things like that around from time to time. 🙂

I love the colors of those pitchers you have.
