did you learn the colors of the spectrum with the acronym roy g. biv?  i’m so into color this season.  i find myself particularly drawn to yellow.  blue is probably the color i’m least fond of–although it’s often found in my favorite parts of nature.  and, it’s matthias’ absolute favorite color.  what’s your favorite color right now??

  1. I love that acronym! Have used it since a kid! Now my daughters remember it that way, and she taught me a cool song they learned at Monarch! My fave color is green! Nature and all that! Beautiful pics as always!

  2. aqua, aqua, aqua – can’t get enough of aqua!
where are those bowls from? i’m seeing them everywhere, but don’t know where to find them. might be a christmas present to myself!

  3. Lately I am very into blue (slate blue, blue-gray), the color is giving my home more of a modern feel.

I *LOVE* the bowls under green! Are they yours? They are absolutely adorable! 🙂

  4. I’m can’t say it’s my favorite color, but I’m really into orange right now. Our Christmas decorations this year all seem to have little splashes of orange, right down to the tangerines dotting the fresh greens on the mantle. It seems very fresh.

  5. pink, pink, always pink! :o)
but this time of year i am drawn to red and green. next year i’m thinking of having a pink and lime green christmas! think i can make it work??

  6. I love that acronym. Blue of any shade is my favorite color although I do like to decorate with sage green and earthtones with a muted purple in there. Merry Christmas!!

  7. Orange…definitely orange. My baby’s room is painted orange, maybe that is why. Or maybe it is because it makes me smile everytime I see it…who knows! 🙂

  8. Yellow has been my favorite ever since my pre-teen years. It doesn’t look good on me, but I love to see it everywhere and what it means to me: warmth, sun, brightness, light, beginnings, and happiness. When you look at something yellow, you can’t help but smile and I love to see people with a glow about them. 🙂

  9. At this time of year, the color in my home is white for a snowmen everywhere, all over my tree, sitting on the shelves, behind the glass in my china closet…everywhere. White lights, white snow, white everything….it is so pure and bright and peaceful.

Wishing you a pure, bright and peaceful holiday.

  10. Always blue. I love blue. Any shade.

Though really, I love all colors. I have the most trouble with red, but I still really like it, especially this time of year. Or paired with a lovely blue, for example. 😉

  11. Blue! Sorry to be so incongruent! 🙂 Only because it matches my eyes so nicely (when I wear it anyway).

And I LOVE your color pics. Here in ol’ KS, our colors are grey, brown, and white right about now. 🙂 Thanks for the peek into a colorful winter!

  12. My mom taught me that one long ago! 🙂 And now I teach it to my boys. Love your photos. My favorite color the last 25 years or so has been green. 🙂

  13. In the UK we learn ‘Richard of York Gave Battle in Vain’ which is rather ridiculous now I come to type it out. It doesn’t really trip off the tongue does it?

And I am declaring 2010 the year of orange – it is impossible to feel sad surrounded by it.

  14. For a long time, I love Aqua Blue because it reminds me of water. I’m H20 lover! As I got older, I am more focusing on fern green because I love the color and nature plants.

  15. Right now I am finding that I am drawn to different shades of green… maybe because I am dreaming of warmer days ahead and the green that is covered in white around here…

  16. I’m seeing yellow everywhere, and I’m really loving it! I am a huge fan of dark, rich purples paired with spring greens. But I love all colors and can’t get enough of their cheeriness!

  17. I’m in England and we learned the colour spectrum with the phrase – Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain!!!! – my favourite colour is magenta pink, having two young daughters!!

  18. Lisa,

You have a wonderful, sweet and inspirational blog. I check in everyday to see what’s going on in your world and love every one of your photos… and your work. Thank you!

Merry Christmas to you, your husband and the boys.

Oh, I love red, orange and yellow!

    With Sincere Blessings to You,

  19. really fun post. love all the pics and remember where you took some of them :).
My favorite color right now is peacock blue. Ever since we saw that peacock at the zoo, I’m obsessed. I hung up the peacock blue lantern (that I bought in Santa Barbara) over the mantle, and it looks so beautiful.
