  1. “Breathe, let go, & know that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure…”
    ~Oprah

  2. I’ve got two:

“Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.” by Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

    and

“Music is numbers made audible.” by Boethius

  4. I love these from A. A. Milne:

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.”

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

And this one as I’m getting older:

“Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?”

  5. I love “There is more to life than increasing its speed”.

    Love anything by Gandhi.

And love the overdone “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away”.

    Congrats on the new home!

  6. I know this is hopelessly long and not really a quote per se – but its a new country song by Lee brice called “Love like Crazy” and its beautiful!! if I had to choose just one piece it would be “overuse I love you”

They called them crazy when they started out
Said seventeen’s too young to know what loves about
They’ve been together fifty-eight years now
    That’s crazy

He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
He bought a little 2 bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
    Yea that’s crazy

Just ask him how he did it; he’ll say pull up a seat
It’ll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I Love You
Go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common since
Never let your prayin’ knees get lazy
    And love like crazy

They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy they’ll never take off
He sold his one man shop to Microsoft
    They paid like crazy

Just ask him how he made it
He’ll tell you faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman,
    Who never let him forget

Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I Love You
Go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common since
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
    And love like crazy

Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get to old to call her baby
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
    And love like crazy

They called him crazy when they started out
They’ve been together fifty-eight years now

    Aint that crazy?

  7. This quote always seems to help me when I’m feeling down: “Always know in your heart that you are far bigger than anything that can happen to you.” – Dan Zadra

I look forward to your posts every morning! Thanks for sharing with us Lisa!

  8. “The glory of God is man fully alive.” -St. Iraneus

Living fully out of who God created you to be gives Him so much joy and pleasure. Thanks, Lisa, for being a great example to all of us of doing just that!

  9. “In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.” Words of wisdom by a small woman who did great things, Mother Teresa.

  10. This one comes straight from the BIBLE…. Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This one has brought me peace so many times…

  11. My absolute favourite is:

DANCE AS THOUGH NO-ONE IS WATCHING YOU
LOVE AS THOUGH YOU’VE NEVER BEEN HURT
SING AS THOUGH NO-ONE CAN HEAR YOU
LIVE AS THOUGH HEAVEN IS ON EARTH by souza

This is the quote I read out at the end of John’s and my wedding 3.5 years ago, as a gift to our family and friends. I ALWAYS try to follow this quote..

    Big smiles

  12. “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

We try to live this out in our daily lives, praying for others and working on building relationships.

PS. I’m loving the the “thousand hearts” quote above!

    Julie

  13. I am torn between two different ones.

    1. “EVERY DAY MAY NOT BE GOOD, BUT THERE IS SOMETHING GOOD IN EVERY DAY.” (Author Unknown).

2.”IF YOU DON’T LIKE SOMETHING CHANGE IT, IF YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT, CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT IT.” (Mary Engelbreit)

Sorry about all the caps. I have these saved on my computer, I made them like that so they stand out.
    😉

  14. Great photos (even the bugs)! I love quotes…my blog is mostly made up of my favorite quotes and my photography. I have so many quotes that I love that it’s hard to pick just one, but here’s one that speaks to me today:

“The tragedy of life does not lie in not reaching your goals, the tragedy lies in not having any goals to reach. It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be unable to capture your ideals, but it is a disaster to have no ideals to capture. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach.” (~Dr. Benjamin Mays)

  15. Really enjoyed this post … one of my favorite quotes is “We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.” ~Epictetus

  16. Wonderful quote, Lisa. Your photos are always a delight too. Except the bugs. Not sure that’s a delight ; )

I just heard a quote today which has me thinking of a good friend who’s husband is leaving her this week.

“You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice” ~ Unknown

  17. i can’t think of a great quote, but do song lyrics count? here’s one rattling around in my head:

    glorious One, glorious One
Light of the World, You outshine the sun
King of all Kings, eternity sings
    glorious One
    (Steve Fee, Glorious One)

btw, every time i view a picture you post of birds on wires or birds in trees, i love them, but i get a little creeped out. they make me think of alfred hitchcock’s movie.

  18. “Why not go out on a limb? That’s where all the fruit is!”
    So true!
Love that birdbath photo, especially, Lisa!

  19. Mine’s a tie between:

There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort — Jane Austen
    and
If equal affection can not be, let the more loving one be me — W.H. Auden

  20. There really is nothing like a great quote to inspire you or make you think. One of my favorites has always been: “Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God, do you learn.” So true, huh??

  21. for it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart.
it was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.
    judy garland

  22. My most favorite quote of all time:
Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn’t know that so it goes on flying anyway. ~Mary Kay Ash

  23. There are so many great quotes! I love looking them up for inspiration. Even though it is a little overdone now, I still love “To the world you might be just one person, but to one person, you just might be the world.”

  24. My all-time favorite quote.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.
    Helen Keller
