what i wore wednesday

it’s wednesday and i’m linking up with lindsey at the pleated poppy for some fashion inspiration!
after being home sick {and hanging out with two sick kiddos} for three days straight, i managed to get dressed yesterday. the butterfly dress is from target last year, and the cardi is from target too. boots, anthropologie. scarf, zara {purchased while we were in england}.

these boots are my go to boots. i wear them at least 3-4x a week. i wear them with jeans and skirts. i love them! but the heel is going and i’m starting to think they might need to be replaced before winter is through. don’t you hate it when a great wardrobe staple wears out?

  1. Yes…I have an old pair of red sandals…don’t know why I’m saving them…but I hate to throw them away…silly since they are too crummy looking to wear..(except maybe to walk the dog haha).but I loved those sandals!

  2. I agree. Jeans. I hate it when they get holes in the knees. I am still trying to replace my favorite jeans that wore out two years ago.

Love that butterfly dress! You always look great.

  3. You should totally get them re-heeled. I do this all the time for shoes that I just love and I’m coveting your boots just right now!

I missed yesterday’s giveaway but wanted to let you know that I get so many compliments on my petite original necklace with my three kids names, Claire, Samuel and Elijah – all teenagers! Whew! I have my eye on the heartstrings wall hanging which will be part of the collage of lovely treasures above my mantle so my kids will be reminded whenever they enter the room of how much they mean to me.

I rarely get time to read or comment on blogs…and working in information technology, I rarely get my necessary infusion of creativity! Your blog does it for me every time and is the only one I read without fail – even if I have to catch up a few days. I always look forward to reading it at lunch! I’ve even got my twin sister hooked! Sister time is best!

    Blessings,
    Cal

  4. Don’t you dare get rid of those boots!!!! Take those lovelies to a shoe repair shop (they do still exist, amazing, I know)!!! I had a great pair of suede heels and the bottom platform of the heal fell off. I had it repaired at a shoemaker’s shop and they are as good as new!!! It wasn’t even expensive to repair.

Love the dress, BTW. So flow-y!

  5. I’m having the same angst over a favourite jacket right now. I’ve had boots reheeled and resoled with some success. After a night of insomnia I’ve chickened out of a phot of myself today and posted one of my wee girl instead.

  6. Absolutely check into having resoled!! I have a family member who owns a leather repair shop and it is so much cheaper. Especially if they are the perfect pair. I am in a mad search for the perfect pair as well. Hope you all feel better soon! I look forward to wiww every week.

  7. bummer that you were sick. but this outfit is so cute. love the dress with the boots.

note to self: find cute floral print dress to wear with my boots!

    blessings for better days1
